Tenacious D, the pick of destiny. Even though the D isn't always as funny as they think they are, they are very funny, skilled musicians and songwriters, and genuine fans of classic rock. Not a great movie, but much better than it will ever be given credit for.

I'm not a fan of Adam Sandler. Little Nicky, Waterboy, Big Daddy and that one where he is a golfer/icehockey player just aren't funny films.

Will Ferrell, Owen Brothers, Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn make some fuuuuuunny films! I nearly wet myself during Old School, especially the bit with the breeze block initiation or when Ferrell gets a tranquilizer dart in his neck.

Everyone who has seen blades of glory says it is hilarious.

I also think Jim Carrey is really talented. He can do the goofball stuff (me, myself and Irene is hilarious) and also some more serious stuff like Eternal Sunshine and Trueman Show.

I dont wanna bore you guys with my stupid movies, but

this one is winner :

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0859765/
THE STILL LIFE (Sanxia haoren in chinese, is that a translation ycagwyw?)

Didnt see it yet, it comes out tomorow in France, and it is supposed to be A MASTERPIECED
The kind of movies that comes once every 10 years, like Murnau's faust, Imemura's Narayama bushiko or else ..

So if it comes out in your country: go.

yeah, man, I knew that movie, the director "Zhang Ke Jia" is one of the best young directors in China, but I have to tell you that it got banned in China, I suppose the movie might be involved in some political issue, coz the censorship is very strict here, so it's a shame that I haven't seen the movie

ycagwyw,
Are you living in China? Are you worried about getting caught posting on a website called "chinesedemocracy"?

The green room is probably the most dangerous place on this site for you to be. If your avatar does disappear, I hope its because your government blocked the site, not because your government found you. I have a friend who works as a chemical engineer in Beijing. He says that particular city is really nice, but they won't let him travel anywhere else in the country.

yes man,

i heard that the previous chinese film i saw

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0794374/

Yihe yuan (2006) - Summer Palace

Dumb User Comment:
This movie is a total disaster. The first half was essentially a low-quality porn movie and the second half was even worse than that. What a total waste of my time and money!

Good User Comment:
Summer Palace has a lot to say during its 140 minutes. Becoming an adult in the 80's and 90's in China, student life, friendship, sex and most of all love.

i reccomend you to see it.

we are all equal in the presence of death.

was banned too. it was AMAZING.

i didnt know that Sanxia haoren (so does it just mean "still life" ?) was banned too.
i can't wait to see it.
Zhang Ke Jia is getting a lot of praise here in france, i need to check his previous film.

yeah, that's because the governors don't want foreign people to see the bad parts of China, Beijing is the capital, it's great for sure, but some other places actually represent the real China more, like some villages, some poor regions, the governors always want to cover up the problems, in order to prevent people knowing the truth

yup, some parts of that movie "Yihe yuan" are involved in the "1989 Tiananmen Democracy Movements", so it was banned

That's my dads favourite film.... I've never seen it but he rants on about it.

Anyone ever seen "Run Lola, Run" I think it's called...... German film with the girl from the Bourne Identity. Quite an iconic film.
