thats true.i just remember an old woman in her 80's (only know this cos shes a friend of the family) on the bus about a year ago was chatting away and i overheard her say and this is word for word "I'm glad i haven't got long left on this earth because its really going downhill".. unfortunately i found out a month ago that indeed her days are nearly up as she has been diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor.
She's probably going mental then. Anybody who thinks life was better 80 years ago is either senile, blindingly nostalgic or a mixture of both.All you have to do is look at the stats. Child mortality, poverty, life expectancy... everything is so much better now.Old people who think they know so much more than you just because they're old are full of shit. They smell like shit too.Especially old folks on the bus because if you've been on this earth 80 years and you still haven't got yourself a bit of money together so you're not riding the bus in vulnerable old age, you were probably a moron all your life anyway.

Police say a NASA contract worker who barricaded himself in a Johnson Space Center office building has killed himself and a hostage.Police surrounded building 44, after receiving reports that shots were fired. Employees were evacuated from the building, as officers and the SWAT team surrounded it.Police determined the man was barricaded inside the building, and weren't able to establish communication with him.After a four hour standoff, they learned of the tragic results.There is no word yet on the identity of the gunman. Police have only said they believe he was in his 50's or 60's.
