axl vocals auto tuned
« on: May 07, 2007, 09:25:19 PM »
let me start by saying that I love the new demos / leaks  what ever  ...but is it just me or does axls voice on  the blues and madagascar sound like they are auto tuned ...these leaks have to be from 02 casue thats when cher did that " do you beielve in love " or something with the whole auto tune and from there everyone and his cousin  did the same technique...Why does axl feel he need to auto tune the vocals ...they kicks ass just the way they are  :disgust:

you are correct they are auto tuned... its standard practice in todays recording technology... your right honestly axl dosent need it but the truth is sometimes you can get a great take of a song with great emotion and all it needs is a bit of pitch correction... i heard a very obvious use of pitch correction in the blues but like i said its standard practice now

Hmmm... so what's the artifacts? Can you describe how it sounds - I'm listening to the song and I'm not picking it up.

once i have enough time i will give some examples... its not always audible to all/most people... audio geeks such as myself end up hearing these things... if a note is corrected too quick it makes sort of a windup sound... thats one example of a artifact from pitch correction

best thing to do is use a pair of headphones and zero in on the vocal track closely... that should help ya... once a few more of the audio guys on the board see this im sure they will put their opinions and stuff in as well... as of right now the blues is the most easily detectable... at least for me

028 to 033 in The Blues sounds autotunes/pitch corrected. Like I said in another post, sounds like Daft Punk :smirk:

no it's not. all the songs we heard are rough demos.
