Autotuning is used so minimally in the blues, i understand whats the big deal. Its only certain lines that are, and i think it is very intended and sounds good

your right... on the other hand these are rough demos so its more than understandable that some of us pick up on this stuff... autotune is a funny thing cuz its very easy to go overboard with it... considering these versions are not retail it only confirms that they are there to serve a purpose to show where the song should go vocally... thats just my assumption

By the way, that enrique eglesias video link up there is totally fake. seriously, its BLATANLY dubbed over, and terribly done. The mic quality is very poor.

yeah it was dubbed over... but it was pretty funny.. sounded like some people i know after a few drinks trying to karaoke

You're right my firned, those are vocal efects instead of auto tunes, i'm a musician and i use auto tune to produced singers, the vocal effect cher used on that song is on purpose to sound that way, not just to get perfect pitch, kid rock have use it and a lot of artists, when you use auto tune you don't even notice it.

so that's a vocal effect, you can listen in madagascar that axl gets out of pitch in some parts, he doesn't us auto tune

I think people are so used to the live performances that thinks this recording is touched up. I think it lacks compression, reverb and, of course, a proper mixing. But nothing like that "phaser" effect that Cheer used and Axl kinda used in OMG.

let me start by saying that I love the new demos / leaks  what ever  ...but is it just me or does axls voice on  the blues and madagascar sound like they are auto tuned ...these leaks have to be from 02 casue thats when cher did that " do you beielve in love " or something with the whole auto tune and from there everyone and his cousin  did the same technique...Why does axl feel he need to auto tune the vocals ...they kicks ass just the way they are 

almost everyone auto tunes his vocals nowadays in modern music productions. and how can u say axl's voice kicks ass just the way it is? he has a great voice but if he would record his voice like he sings live it would sound terrible.
we all know that he has problems live and that his voice isn't that great anymore. just listen to the re-recording of sweet child o' mine by the new band. his voice sounds terrible on this and is far away from the quality of the original recording. but his voice is definately better now than in 2001/02.

Autotune doesn't have the kind of effect described in previous posts. I completely agree with whoever stated before that it is a vocal effect. It really just sounds like a doubled vocal track with some really short delayed reverberation and maybe a notch of flange.
