I was surfing on MYGNR, when I came across a real interesting post, posted by “HisRoyalSweetness”

"I don't want to speculate too much, but "The Blues" really seems like it has to do with abortion. "What I thought was beautiful don't live inside of you anymore," seems to speak to that. Considering how important kids are to Axl, and how his own childhood suffering pushed him to try and make-up for it as a father himself, an abortion could be the kind of thing that would trigger the kind of emotional nuclear explosion necessary for an artist to embark on a project like "Chinese Democracy."

His post made me really wonder, could this be true?

If you listen to the lyrics, there are indeed a couple of lines that could refer to an abortion:

All the love in the world couldn't save you
All the innocence inside

You know I tried so hard to make you
To make you change your mind

You know I didn't want to be you
Now there's a hell I can't describe

I don't know just what I should do
Everywhere I go I see you
You know it's what you planned, this much is true
What I thought was beautiful don't live inside of you anymore

Just like “HisRoyalSweetness”, I don’t want to speculate too much, but could this be true?

I think it speaks about some sort of disappointment.
I dont think it has anything to do with the abortion.

The Blues could be the best song on the new album.

At least IMO it has the chane to be the best I have heard played so far.

After mixing this could be very good material.

You could be right Lucky, but as I'm listening to The Blues it kind of makes sense though.

Just listen to the song while keeping it in mind, I really wonder…

That would be a play on words.

I dunno, it seems possible but it's a bit of a stretch at the same time. It's not something I'd have considered.

I definately think this song's about Stephanie, but the 'What I thought was beautiful don't live inside of you anymore' line probably refers to her change of character around the time of the break-up with Axl.  :)

She decided to have the abortion and Axl tried so hard to make her change her mind? Could be. I don't think it's about abortion though. That's too cheap.

Nice, some decent conversation for once, ok, so The Blues is basically my favourite new song, it seems to be something alot more meaningful than it lets on, and some of the lyrics are just plain fucking magnificent.. The theory of it revolving around an abortion is a pretty credible concept for me, but I dunno..

Whatever caused Axl's creativity to plug into this song certainly is something very close to Axl.. My favourite song..

For me, it could be about abortion, or it could as easily be about Izzy and the old band.

But I think that it's really cool that Axl's lyrics have so much moving parts, you know? You can take the lyrics and they have a meaning for you from you personal life or what ever, but if you ask your friend about them, he/she might have a totally different view in them.

The lyrics are what you make of them. And it's a really speacial talent Axl has, most of todays emo-lyricist don't come even close.

Wow, did you seriously not understand what that had to do with an abortion?
