If slash was/"is" such a talent, then why is it the only most memorable, greatest solo, people only talk about solo
is from november Rain? Dont guitar players get better as the years pass by , via experience and shit?

Well in the last 15 years, not one of his guitar solos has matched up to the november rain one...

So perhaps Axl/the others were really the driving force, because Slash's solo career/vr is mediocre at best...

Im not being derrogatorive to slash, but im just simply saying from the general publics point of view,
That he still thinks hes in gnr (still wearing the exact same clothing, hat... etc) even though,
hes guitar playing is nothing like it was 15 years ago, in the sense of his creativeness...

Anyone who gives Axl's stage antics shit deserves a bullet to the head. Seriously..

Slash has stagnated.. Don't see any new revolutionary shit coming from him, now who's scared to be judged? Maybe he is scared to try anything new because he knows, breaking the mould could blow his career to fuckin' pieces... But Axl is doing it, and doing it quite fucking well.

I love it how axl went through different phases in his life, eg 01/02 with the hockey jerseys, and now
with  the dredds, true religion jeans, nice clothes and shit,
and hes always dresseed how he wants to, and not how people want him too,

however, Slash still dresses the same/thinks hes the same, and hasn't progressed into something that he would probably be more comfortable in, thats why Buckethead was a shit fit for gnr (Visually wise) Because he kept to his own clothes/fancy dress , lol watever u wanna call it,

In conclusion..

Axl does what the fuck he wants (which i love, great rolemodel)
Slash lets the public mould him, (i.e look at his setlists still gnr songs, and scott is fucking shit vocalist, which
makes the gnr songs leave a bad taste in your mouth) And slash still wears the same shit,
I MEAN CMON SLASH, A FUCKING TOP HAT , AND UR NOT IN GNR???

Contraband was a good album, yes, and successful in record sales as well.  As expected when you market an album that combined prominent members of two of the most popular American bands of the past 20 years.  Although I'd suggest that musically and in terms of replay value Contraband was a bit of a disappointment, with that much talent in the band they should have made a better album.  We'll see what they do with Libertad.  I played the hell out of Contraband about the first 6 months I had it and since then I have hardly listened to it at all, it's just another good but unremarkable album in my collection that I never really feel an itch to listen to

i agree with that but i think that "chinese democracy" will be not-either something else than an unremarkable album after it's released and some time passed by. maybe the songs are already better than velvet revolver's stuff but they're not like the old Gn'R stuff i can listen to over and over after almost 20 years. I already don't listen to the leaks anymore cause there's better stuff out there. that's my opinion.

And why should he do revolutionary shit ?
Personaly, I just want him to play his les paul and express his feelings through it.

I don't want him to play some techno shit, it wouldn't be Slash anymore. This guy is made to play heavy blues and he does it perfectly.

And what kind of clothes should he wear ? Should he shave his hairs ?

Slash is Slash, don't change him  :D

VR is not a guitar solos band, that's why he doesn't play great solos anymore. It's basic rock n' roll and that's what he loves to play. Back in 90's he said that he didn't love the new direction of GN'R, you know with the piano and all that stuff. He did great work, but it wasn't really what he wantedto play.

And I love his style, he looks like he would come from a comics book  :D

Chinese Democracy's worst song will be better than Libertad's best song, nuff said.

Well, we must be bored again! No gnr news, so start bashing VR and the former members. At least VR has a real web site, no one on there boards are playing guessing games about IF the album will ever come out. There is a firm release date with a sample (that the band actually wants us to hear) on there. What ever, Slash is no longer the guitar player in gnr, so he cant play guitar? Shut up!!!!!!!!! If it was not for slash, what would these new guys be playing in concert that they own? here are the 7 demos we have been working on for 10 years, thank you and good night.

I think Slither is a better rocker than the song Chinese Democracy.  How does that grab ya?  Not only that, but the Slither guitar solo, is better than ANYTHING I have heard from the New GNR.  Take that one to heart!
Never lose hope: BRING BACK SLASH.

You can take the word of Slash's website for it.  I'll take the RIAA's word since they're who actually decides it  :unibrow:

That's the beauty of opinions

I'll take Buckethead's IRS solo over any of Slash's heavy/fast solos on CB and I'll not only take his TWAT solo over any Slash CB solo, I'll stack it up right alongside Slash's greatest GnR solos :unibrow:

You can't compare Slash to Buckethead man. Two completely different styles of guitar.

Also, to everyone, who gives a fuck who you think is better out of vr and the new gnr and who will do better with what albums?

Shut up for fuck's sake.

this is interesting, we've never had a topic like this before   :retard:

who cares, its all good music, lets just enjoy it.
thank you.  a voice of reason on this board...

VR and GN'R are very different bands.  I was quite disappointed in that VR was more STP than GN'R, but in 2004 Contraband came out and was the album that the music scene needed for that point in time.  Do you still remember how in 2004 nu-metal/rap-metal was still one of the biggest draws?  Motley hadn't even really gotten back together when Contraband dropped.  Contraband dropped, and while yes it is an unremarkable album, it was a good album out of 2004.  The early 2000's were some of the worst times for new albums imo because it was mainly rap-metal and alternative styled rock.  Lets give Libertad a chance, the live boots i heard of the new shit from them sounds a whole lot better than Contraband.
