Well like you all know by now, Slash said in some interview , I guess it was in brazil or some shit, He said that he would like to make a GNR Reunion just for the fun of it,like a reunion tour. Wich I think ofcourse is jut for the dam money in my opinion. So hereÂs the question..........Would you like a reunion tour just to have a couple of shows and thats it???? after that they all go to their bands again....

My answer is this:  I dont want a fucking reunion just for the money or for the fun of it, like Slash says. Is like ....yeah ok lets do this earn a lot of money and thats it.....Fuck that. If is a Reunion is a REUNION cause they want to play together again!!!! no just for the fun or the money they will get....C,mon

The reason the reunion will never happen is because none of the guys, save Steven, would need the money.  Axl is still selling out arenas worldwide without the old lineup, he doesn't need the old guys to sell tickets.  And he's not money driven, at least not completely.  Obviously he cares about financials but if all he cared about was money rather than the music he would've released CD a loooooong time ago

In fact if all he cared about was money the original lineup would've never broken up.  He could have just recorded half assed albums and continued to tour and sell tickets just on the name and the catalogue.  He wanted to get more ambitious and try to experiment and try new things musically, the old guys wanted none of that which is pretty much why the band broke up

Axl has already proven to himself that the new lineup can sell tickets and get a strong reception for their live shows so he has no reason to go crawling back to the old guys, now or at any point in the future

umm sure, i understand your point.. but its irrelavent on a board for a site called cocksalad.com. i agree and disagree, i think Axl alone (with NewGNR, not the originals) has produced excellent music some of which IS better then the old stuff.

Slash has specifically said in several interviews that he has been offered tons of money to reform but he won't do it for the money.  alot of other things would have to change before they got back together.

Uh, no.  I don't know it.  It's called opinion.  And your opinion on a lot of the matters discussed here is contradictory and nonsensical.  For example, saying Axl is afraid to have a "unique" lead guitarist, even though he hired Buckethead and let him play a 7-9 minute solo spot during the show.

TWAT in its final form will be one of the best GnR songs ever.  No doubt in my mind about that.  That is an outstanding song.  The Blues, Better, Madagascar, and Chinese D are better than a solid chunk of their old discography.  IRS is one of their best songs live, new or old.  And there apparently are a bunch of songs that everyone whose heard the album say are better than anything that's been heard by the public.  So I don't "know" what you're talking about.  And if the music that Velvet Revolver's making is any indication, Axl's better off with the new lineup if he wants to do more than make generic corporate rock.

This assumption that if the old lineup reunited they'd make great music is stupid.  Look at all the formerly great bands that have well-established lineups that made classic albums in the past that are merely average now.  Metallica is one that comes to mind
