The Loooong Thread about politics
« on: May 30, 2007, 06:07:11 PM »
Ok.... this thread needs to be started for many reasons

1)This place has turned into crap lately.  We used to have good educated(some people at least) debates/discussions about politics.

MODS: Move 80% of the threads on this page to the garden or jungle.
-No Movies, No music, No random crap.  Just news and sports.

2)I've lost all but a little interest in the band but still like coming here from time to time to talk to people.  We've been retaken over by thirteen year olds and very few people who like bands that aren't gn'r, motley crue, metallica, iron maiden or ozzy(not that there is anything wrong with those bands). There is very static discussion in the music section.

3)The Jungle
..... :puke:

Ok... so I've had my rant. Basically I'd like a reason to keep coming here, before I completely give up on you guys.

I'll start.  Let me start it off with some current events.

As some of you may or may not know one of my favorite fuckers, paul wolfowitz head of the world bank, has officially been replaced(well in the near future at least), by Robert Zoellick.  Paul wolfowitz was 2nd only to rumsfeld in fucking up the iraq war.  Zoellick has been well known in all corners of the world including being the us trade representative and the deputy secretary of state.  However, Zoellick has been accused of being an advocate of only rich countrys which seems like a joke to me becuase he was known for being one of the main advocates in helping out darfur as deputy secretary of state.  Anyways please share your thoughts with me or bring up something else.

Oh god, if you don't have shit to say, don't.

I haven't really looked into it as much, but I guess I agree with you to a certain degree, I don't really think that he was a good replacement. And the fact that he has worked under Bush for quite some time and that he don't really have the correct repotoaire for this job doesn't make it that much better.

Sorry about the long fucked up sentences, I'll get back to this later, too late.

Yet another Bush cronie being put in to maintain America's expansionist policy.

Good idea for a thread though.

If I had my way the neo-cons would be lined up and shot against some derelict brick wall in a dingy little forest somewhere and their bodies would be left to rot. The elected officials in america are the scum of the earth and are dragging America's name through the mud. In a democracy the elected officials reflect general public opinion, so don't be surprised if the rest of the world hates you. I try to treat every person as an individual and not label them by the decisions of their leaders. however with some of the stupid things I hear on this forum about the Gulf conflict it is hard to see any peace loving, liberal Americans that haven't been sucked into this pro-Jew-media-fest-war.

Your comments are contradictory. You try to treat every person as an individual, yet you think all neo cons should be shot and apparently have something against jews. In the words of Luke skywalker "I feel the conflict within you, let go of your hate!"

I consider myself to be somewhat a consumer of political news, but things like that I can't get excited about. Head of the world bank, why the attorney general fired a couple judges...... I know I'm gonna get blasted for this, but with everything going on in the world, these things seem like the most minute details of non consequential political events.

Dont try and pick holes in what I've written. It's watertight and not at all contradictory. Perhaps you can explain exactly how they are contradictory?

The neo-cons (ie the post 2000 Republican Party) have lied, cheated, murdered and destroyed to futher themselves and line their own pockets.

I have nothing against Jew's. I have a problem with the Israeli government and I have problems with the Jew owned media in the Western world. In no part did I write "I hate all Jew's".

I'll be waiting!!

That's the contradictory part, you've just blanket labelled all current members of the Republican party as being willing to lie, cheat and kill to advance their own careers and fortunes.  There were Republicans that opposed the Iraq war too y'know, just as there were Democrats who supported it

Yeah, but he was talking about the neo-cons and their mind bogglingly misguided judgements through out their term.  You're right too, I consider my self to have somewhat conservative ideals and do not support the war either.  I'd like to line up the neo-cons and shoot them as well.  I've listed many rants about how they have fucked everything up.  While old Georgie isn't a wonderboy in himself, the neo-cons have found a way to sink america into a scary looking hole.  Which, quite frankly, isn't even close to the bottom.  Everything is slowly rising in price and we haven't began to feel the effects of the war.  The worlds strongest economy is going into recession. It also relates to the fact that this government has the highest tax bracket leniency and fucked the rest of america.  Who the fuck would realize that the gas companies have had their highest prices in years and also made the highest profits and not do anything about it?  What the fuck?

Prices of gas in America are still much lower than in the UK.
