Axl's mood
« on: June 09, 2007, 11:06:59 PM »
This might be a really stupid thread but its just something i was thinking about.  This is directed towards anyone who either was at or has extensive knowledge about the three mexican dates.  Did it seem to you that axl was not in a particularly great mood and that maybe he didn't really want to be there? From what ive seen online..welcome to the jungle from mexico city. At  the beginning. Robin is playing the intro riff and instead of do you know where the fuck you Are he looks at robin and just says anytime! Sounding rather perplexed. Does anyone know what this is about? Plus he doesn't seem to talk very much to the crowd. Not even during knockin..and last world tour he talked often in non english speaking countries.  What do you think about this?

I don't know, maybe it's because they're touring with no fucking new record, and the stress of pussy-footing around it is getting to him. I think the biggest reason that the record hasn't come out is because he's scared that people won't like it and think he's insane for still playing under the gnr name with all new members. from all the leaks I can tell it'll be a genious fucking record and will put to rest all the doubters. I guess Axl just has to have confididence in himself that he and his new crew can pull it off, and in fact can pull it off better than if all the old guys were still around....

if all the old guys were still around GNR would have already releasedd it and would be way better. dont get me wrong, since i found out GNR were coming to australia and i joined this forum, i have started to really like the new GNR, but the old one was just perfect, also the old GNR probably have more credibility and all the press wouldnt be bagging the shit our of them.

Not to be all "Axl's Fat" or anything. BUT.

It is noticeable that he gained some weight and is wearing even larger clothes on stage this tour.  He could be 300 pounds for all I care, but I think that the stress is probably getting to him.  Some stress.  Probably the same way it was in 2002.

Don't bash me, it's just an observation.

I don't know, after the uyi stuff, they finally went back into the studio, in what '94 or something? knowing that times were changing Axl wanted to change the direction to become more relevent. Slash just wanted to throw, the same kinda stuff out there, just chuck some shit out there, like he did with slash's sankepit, and it sucked. Axl didn't wanna do that, he wanted to do something more elaborate, Like he has recently said in an interview "it's not about control, it's about not wanting to throw just a brick out there." if Axl was like "Okay Slash, let's just do the same old shit". the album proabally would've sucked, and the band would've gone down with losers like motley crue. But Axl was like "fuck that, I'm not gonna do that." Slash is like "okay I'm gone". in comes Robin Finck. then Matt and Gilby are fired. Duff was the last to go in I think '96, he quit. But in my opinion Axl's like okay fuck this, you can't end the fuckin' legacy of Guns n' Roses, so the show must go on. it's fuckin' ridiculous, how long the album is taking cuz axl is so motherfuckin' crazy, but Axl is a genius and a true artist. I think the Guns n' Roses in 2007 and this album "Chinese Democracy" would be way more relevent, than if the same old farts stuck around, it'd proabally be pretty boring, like Velvet Revolver.
shit, I've said alot, but I haven't yet contributed much to this forum, so there's my 2 cents.

Oh no!!!! Now this thread will go on and on and on regarding Axl and his possible weight gain. Has he gained weight? How much weight? Lets compare him now to the end of 2006. Whats he been eating? What food is he craving?

If he arrived just before the gig started then it's not suprising he was tired.

For what it's worth, when i went in Sheffield he barely spoke either.

Your 2 cents are right on the money... Axl would rather put out nothing than some crap ass album every 2 years, like Aerosmith, they've put out what 25 albums or something & countless greatest hits compilations since the late 80's, they used to be one of the most important rock bands of our time now their just cotton candy sell outs.
And the main reason  GNR broke up...Slash just wanted to play, thats evident by every decision he's made since then, Slash's Snakepit were horrific & remember he played with Michael Jackson numerous times, even recorded on 1 of his songs & and most recently played on Chris Daughtry's album! :puke:
He don't give a fuck what he plays & Axl wants to make music that will last for decades, so how would it be possible for these 2 to ever work together?
