Small Gnr mention in The Sun (uk)
« on: June 29, 2007, 04:07:46 AM »
Velvet Revolver's Libertad was reviewed in The Sun this morning with a GnR mention which is why I put it in this section, I can't find it on-line but this is what it said:

Velvet Revolver 4/5

In the year we're finally being promised the new Guns N' Roses album Chinese Democracy, Axl's old chums get in first (not difficult) with the follow up to 2004s debut Contraband.
For hard rock fans it doesn't get much better than this, a consummate excercise in ecstatic riffs and earth shattering rhythm. Add in a volley of outrageous Slash guitar solos and towering vocals from Scott Weiland and Libertad is destined to be a hit. The only blip comes with an ill-judged cover of ELO's Can't Get It Out Of My Head which suggests VR should stick to their striking originals. Over to you, Axl.

I can't believe they've give it 4/5 after what most people on here have said, maybe an illegal download is in order  :ninja:

Might make a few more people aware of CD so like it says, over to you Axl!

:retard: well fuck my old boots, thats got to be one of the worst albums I've heard, Get Out The Door is especially bad, if this is all Slash and Duff are capable of then we don't want them back! Its bad alright although not as bad as "Rubber" by Gilby Clarke!

'Gravedancer' is the only song that even comes close to being as good as the new gnr stuff

I hope it is, I really loved Pawn Shop Guitars and listened to it all the time but when I got Rubber I was really disappointed, I was maybe a bit mean cos Gilby is one of the good guys, right I'm gonna go on your recommendation and give "swag" a try!

libertad has 4/5 stars?

You have got to be fucking joking.

That means, gnr's cd will get a minimum of 10 out of 5 stars...

Libertad is shit,
We all laughed when we thought "why the fuck did they release "SBQM" as a single, surely there has to
be better songs on their then that, then some of you people said "they have no choice in the matter
, its all up to the record label etc"

well , im afraid to say, SBQM is the best of a really really really shit bunch of songs...

Which is why it was released as a single,

the only "hook" in this song, if u wanna call it that, is Scotts shitty, and I mean
really shit vocals, when he goes 'RIGHT , RIGHT " where he repeats the same word twice..

If people start thinking Rock is all about Velvet Revolver in this present time, then Gnr's Cd, is our only
saviour, cause only a Complete fucking retard can make a song by rhyming word A with word A..

Fucking shows how ridiculous vr are today...

Has this guy even listened to the record? He just listed everything Libertad lacks as its atributs. And why is everyone picking on ELO's Can't Get It Out Of My Head!!! After Let it roll it is my favourite song on Libertad. Fucking journalists!!!

Well people don't tend to throw toilet paper at shit, so no that'd be pretty unclear. I really don't see how what i said was shit, the album is good, it would seem that everyone but the hardcore Guns N' Roses fans like it and that is a result of incredibly gross bias. If the album was better than Chinese Democracy, you'd never admit it.

Ok..
lets have a look show we..

Quote
Roll over, right
Keep it through the night, right, right
Keep it through the night
Right in my sight, keep it through the night
I'll smash right through your spotlight

Yeh, scotts a fucking genious

Rhyming Right with Right with Night..

And even the lyrics are meaningful..
Ill smash right through your spotlight, ? right in my sigh, keep it through the night

what the fuck does that mean..

keep it through the night,

Is Scott still in rehab,
and theirs no memorable guitar solos in the album either...

So Do you want me to elaborate further,
or have I already proven how shit this album really is..
And I admit, the first album was good and it gave me high hopes for the second one,
but they have fallen way short...
