A couple of improvements on the new songs
« on: July 24, 2007, 05:56:43 AM »
I listened to some bootlegs of the 2007 Tour and I nticed a couple a changements in the new songs, it's even better like that:

- The Blues: the tempo is a little bit faster. Less Keyboard and more guitars. Sounds better. Still need more punch though. Maybe the studio version will fix it.

- Better: the rythm guitar has a different sound, it's more Rock n' Roll and less emo/metal, sounds WAY better, more in the Classic-Rock vain, just like the Guns N' Roses sound, Gibson sound, good Rock rythm guitar playing + a guitar effect during the nintendo sounding noise after the bridge, once again, it makes these few seconds sound better + a huge improvement at the end of the song with a Guitar following the "na na na" part, it sticks in your head + the chorus of the song are stonger (backing vocals) + the drums playing is a little bit different wich is good.

- Chinese Democracy: fantastic drums playing, dawn, Frank really has "it".
- Madagascar: the end is different, there is a backing voice with a totally new vocal line, it's awesome. The song seems deeper.

The songs sound better and fully accomplished now. Time to release the record. I think it's gonna be big.

For the last time, the new Maddy was fake as Pamela Anderson's tits.
Good analysis though

dude, I was going to start this thread, lol. Good post...

I listened to some bootlegs of the 2007 Tour and I nticed a couple a changements in the new songs, it's even better like that:
There are changes in the old songs too, and the songs also sound way better now - thanks to Ron God Thal, Robin Jesus Finck, Richard Holy Spirit Fortus, Frank Ferrer, Mother Goose (I don't know if Mother Goose is a good thing  ) etc.

- The Blues: the tempo is a little bit faster. Less Keyboard and more guitars. Sounds better. Still need more punch though. Maybe the studio version will fix it.
Acoustic guitar really audible now - Fortus solo starts when Dizzy's still playing, before Axl start singing again. Sounds really good - Fortus solo is awesome.

Remember, Ron said he recorded rhythm parts for some new songs 'cause it wasn't sounding like Gn'R. He borrowed an old Gibson Les Paul (if i'm not wrong) from the talking metal guys and recorded it, and I think his rhythm parts are being played live.
That guitar effect during Pitman's noise is awesome, haha. I really like it - and it's probably a change by Ron Thal. The guitar following the "na na na na" sounds amazing... it really sticks in my head. Better is better now, lol.

- Chinese Democracy: fantastic drums playing, dawn, Frank really has "it".
I also noticed that there's a different effect (Pitman?) while Axl sings the "it don't really matter" part, and it sounds damn good. Frank has it, indeed. Oh, and Ron's solo changed a bit, too (nothing much, the first seconds of the solo are the same) and I really like it even more.

- Madagascar: the end is different, there is a backing voice with a totally new vocal line, it's awesome. The song seems deeper.
Axl's singing is different here, and Fortus playing is awesome towards the end (haha you'll love reading it, I bet) and his guitar work sounds deeper here, I dunno how to explain, but it's a really good thing.

The songs sound better and fully accomplished now. Time to release the record. I think it's gonna be big.
Yes, the songs sound way Better now.

There's also some changes on I.R.S., but VoodooChild can talk about that 'cause he knows how to explain the changes - Ron changed his solo a bit, it's even more impressive and sounds better. Frank's drumming is really good here.

I really love the synths on IRS, I didn't notice those before

EDIT: And with the new backing vocals on Madagascar, you mean the Nyeyeye or I don't know what it sounds like, it's weird as hell tho.

4tus is way better :)
If I were Axl, I would go back with 2 guitar players and give 4tus the Lead spot like Slash.
THAT would bring Guns N' Roses to the top of the music world again.
This band needs a Superstar on Guitar, and it's Richard Fortus by a long, long shot.

Listen to this jam ---> http://download.yousendit.com/AB4B388C0E4E6CE2
awesome. Pure bluesy-Rock guitar playing. He is as good as Slash.

Hopefully those of us living in the United States will get to hear these changes in the song as well, be it live or on the record.

Original Guns had Slash & Izzy on lead and rhythm guitars. Now we have Ron, Richard and Robin on lead and rhythm guitars. How can this possibly be a bad thing? Instead of 2 excellent guitarists, we now have 3.

Yay, he is as good as Slash, so is C.C Deville, but we've got two guitarists who are capable to burying Slash's reputation, and they are Ron & Robin.

You really need to step off the soap box, Nesquik, I'm sick of your Richard worshiping bullshit. It's people like you, and the bumble-fans that turn me off guitarists.. Hence the reason I am a huge Robin fan, not only for his amazing style and writing skills, but for the fact he doesn't have doting morons praising his every move..

I'm sure you'd think Richard shits the best of anyone on the planet, but fact of the matter is, George Bush can shit with the best of 'em! When you take it up the arse as much as him it just falls out!

I admit Richard is great, but I also prefer Robin, and no I'm not praising anyone.
