I've been thinking these last few days, as I watch the boards scramble for something to talk about in the wake of nil Guns N Roses news, what the hell we actually did wrong? I mean, I look at Guns N Roses 2006 campaign, and I figure that for a band with no new album and only one original member who hadnt toured together since 2002 and hadnt toured properly in Europe since 1993 they did pretty damn well. Media coverage in the UK, Australia, Norway, Denmark, Spain and New Zealand to name but several. These werent pieces of ridicule, they were serious journalistic pieces on their gig, spots that (in Ireland at least) rock bands dont tend to get on the 6 One news.

They also managed to play every major European festival of 2006, and a major American festival, and all this time while they may not have spoken about it directly the fact that the band was on the 'Chinese Democracy World Tour' kinda gave the impression that they were planning a new album at somestage. But yet, here we are, in August 2007 with no release date and no promises and no tourdates and no news. I keep asking myself, what did the fans do wrong, what was it that Axl didnt get to accomplish? If recording of the album was actually done in Feb, it cant just be that theyve holed themselves up in the studio again, so what is it? What made Axl stop touring and made him disappear, what could be have possibly not been happy about? He didnt have a reason to be honest, he did extremely well for a band in his situation.

He's the author of his own troubles i feel so sorry for the band sometimes not being able to just get out there and talk and tour with material they've made because every time Axl builds them up and we all think YES!!! he goes and knocks them back down again. There still hope yet though.

there is but , and i quote jemeslofton here " we support it by logging on every day....... there is more harm than good in releasing the record" we need to unite as fans, even the little boards too, and show that although its been cool with the tours, we want a release because this is getting stale

I don't see how Rich, Robin, Ron, Tommy, Dizzy, Chris, and Frank how deal with it?  HOw can they live day to day knowing that they spent countless hours working on this amazng ablum, but have nothing to show for it?
They should all just fucking quit, play us the new songs, and then write a book about the craziness that was 'Chinese Democracy'
then reunion time

Maybe Axl wants these boards to die, to everyone forget about him entirely.

Maybe he just became unhappy with the new record, and instead of saying he won't release it he would just let the issue die off.

Maybe he wants to release it when everyone forgot all about it.

Who knows?

I do not like any of those options though.

Cheer up, it's been just a month since the end of the tour, I do think something big is coming this fall.

Well that's what happened with Buckethead and Brain (who said he will return when the record is out). If you want to go even further back, Slash and co. quit because of a lack of progress. I do not expect people such as Dizzy or Fortus or Pitman to ever leave, but some of the newcomers, such as Ron or Frank, can get fed up with it and quit.

We didn't do anything wrong...We'll be able to do something when an album comes out. Without an album there's no action to be taken, at least for fans.
I'll be waiting here, alone, while you do what you wanna do

Some call it "the fear of success" others call it BS, IS really Axl in charge of what happens, or is he just another victim of his mind?

AHAHA.  interesting and roses of velvet cannot co-exist in the same sentence, unless it's like 'roses of velvet is not interesting.'

I for one still believe it`s gonna drop, nor could I imagine that band who for the most part have been onboard since what 2001 as I recall. The only exceptions being Ron & Frank yeah their new but do you folks think that the guy`s have just sitting around & collecting their pay checks? Don`t think so, not for one god damn second!!! There has ta be a master plan between Axl & the record company. The `06-`07 tours were warmup`s, getting the band on the same page, just go back & listen ta `07 show`s they showed the growth by leap`s & bound`s   As for what did we do wrong? Don`t know, didn`t we all go out & support the show & hanging in like the good little trooper`s that we are, & can`t wait for it all to start over again!!  One other thoughtdid any one get the idea that perhaps `06-07 were done in every major market & playing the old songs that we as fans wanted ta hear, might just be Axl`s swan song to that era before unleashing the record  & stroming back out & continue the tour making it the real deal with the new songs, & for sure the one`s weve yet ta HEAR  :thumbsup:And only a select number of old songs. So until I hear it from the Man, guess i`l continue hang`n round just cause there will be a time & I got nothing better ta do :D

I think what all the fans can do best right now is wait a little longer before getting to paranoia about it. Like "jamillos" said, it's only been a month. Whatever is causing the delay, it's probably a good reason. I don't think the band would stick around if they were aware of a plan not-to release album. Like Axl Rose himself told us, we probably shouldn't use every minute of the day browsing the internet for answers to the big question and also move on with our lives. These topics keep popping up, ever since the end of the tour which hasn't even been that long ago.

Although you could say after all the waiting and supporting of the fans, we kind of earned a little more clearance maybe, always rememberthat this is also very important to the band. They have put years of work and preperations into this and want it to be perfect for the fans but also for theirselves. I don't think we have to wait much longer for a press release, since there should be plenty of time right now to work everything out.

Good luck to the whole band!
