I saw them 2 days ago, and it was without a doubt the best concert I've ever seen. The only problem I thought was that Scott's voice was drowned by the rhythm section (his mic wasn't loud enough). They do a great job on the GNR covers (Patience was done very well). People who claim that they cannot like VR because "GNR is so much better" are quite ignorant and have a 1-track mind. It is possible to like both bands, and if you care more about the music played than what kind of grudges created the current lineups of both bands, you can thoroughly enjoy both bands. If GNR ever plays in my city (or close to it, depending on what the ruling is about bands who start riots), I will go see it, and I am confident that I will enjoy it as well.

And in regards to some previous comment about Slash never releasing Chinese Democracy...he never had that intention. He quit because he couldn't stand the creation of "the perfect album," which is impossible anyway and he knows that. If you want, you can consider Slash's "Five O'Clock Somewhere" as his Chinese Democracy (that was the intention anyway). It may not be nearly as good as what the new GNR record will be, but that was never Slash's intention.

... And being 10 feet away from Slash, I never realized how much I miss him in GNR.  It was especially hard when they busted out "Patience".  They all brought out stools and Matt Sorum had a mini drum kit set up, reminiscent of 91-93 when the did the mini acoustic set mid show.  Slash playing his Guild acoustic/electric doubleneck and it was one of the best live versions of the song I'd heard in forever.  It was a little weird hearing Scott singing it but I didn't really care.  I was listening to the music.  Later on they did "It's So Easy" and "Brownstone".  Both songs killed.  It was nice to hear the solos actually played the way they're supposed to be played  :slywink:

An unbelivable show.  As a bonus, Alice In Chains opened and they were awesome as well.  I don't plan on seeing the newest incarnation of GNR again.  I've seen them twice and it was nice to get home at a reasonable hour.  There just isn't a point.  Flame me, I don't care.
tldr, and we don't care about missing him, slash needs to go back to what he said and quit playing gnr and stp covers.  scott weiland singing a gnr song is a travesty to music.
