Buying Gear in Europe suggestions
« on: September 03, 2007, 04:32:27 AM »
oK guys and etts.  I have been buying and selling gear in the USA for most of my life. I know the market and know how to get a good deal. But now I live in Europe and occupying Greece. but I have a different way of thinking for prices.  EVERYTHING is more expensive in Europe for Gear and Guitars. and I'm talking 100's of dollars in difference for something simple.

Please tell me where you shop for good gear and prices!  Online links is fine and even your in store experiences.

because I refuse to buy a shitty $150 acoustic Ovation and have to spend about 350 Euro for it.

abit confused about that...

why dont you just buy from america and get i stripped and then reassembled when its in europe, its alot cheaper as the Customs charges are lower because its classed as 'guitar parts' rather than 'a guitar'.

If you're looking for something specific surely it's best just to look around and see where's cheapest?

Yeah or there's always eBay.

Oh btw, Marshall, Laney and Engl are sometimes cheaper over here since they're European brands. Marshall and Laney in Britain especially. Dunno how that works out in Greece though.

:retard: sorry for the eyes but I would never have somebody strip down a guitar and then have it put back together.

:?: or ask around? I've been looking for a long time and it looks like I'll get ripped off from what I see. From what I said in my post......  I am used to a different market and looking for factual feedback.

Thomann is seriously the BEST FUCKIN' place by far to order gear in europe!

top quality, mega inventory and their prices are unbeatable!

excellent fast and cheap shipping too! i order virtually everything there, for years and every order just perfect!

...and if you ever make it to germany visit their store, it's like a wal mart full of guitars... awesome!

i'll never forget the day, a fuckin truck stopped at my house just to bring me my 4x12 cab all the way from germany to austria and it costed me 7,5 lousy bucks!!!!

Thomann rocks dude!!!

For a used ok. If new, that would void warranty and I would want nothing done to my guitar until I inspected it at least.. but ok if the guy was somebody I trusted and had to be great, then ok I sort of see your point.

yes it is usually used ibanez's which is his speciality, and also still in my lower price range.

Are you in mainland Greece or one of the Greek islands?
