'Lost' Industrial Album?
« on: September 04, 2007, 04:25:23 PM »
You remember when CD was supposed to be all industrial/techno? Well wasn't there supposed to be an album's-worth of material for said album? What if that's just...sitting in the GN'R vaults, never to see light of day? I know I ask a lot of pointless questions, but this hath been bugging me.  :paranoid:

well i have heard that axl's 52 mastered tracks included industrial stuff (though as bad as it sounds *shudders*). so its more than just a little rumor. infact it may not be lost as axl plans more albums after CD. if theres a album with Rhiad and silkworms in the pipeline, there will be stuff like Closing in on you to go along with it perhaps. but who knows.

Gawsh I know, Riyadh next to The Blues would really mix the album up. In a good way.  :D

It'd of been better than the same tired out epics imagine if Better didn't exist or CITR imagine an album full of Madagascar type songs :retard: It'd soon get old fast.

As much as people bash the industrial direction, I think it could be sweet if they properly mixed the Pitman beats, dirty guitar, and well written lyrics. It'd be yet another expansion of the GNR canon.

Hey, it's nice to dream and keeps the pain and frustration of thinking about this catastrophe now doesn't it?

I'm not saying go NIN Industrial, but GNR with an industrial direction. As much people speculate about the whole "industrial" concept, I doubt it was going to be all industrial songs. Sure there'd be Oh My God, Chinese Democracy, Rhiad and the Bedouins and maybe Silkworms, but there'd also be There Was A Time and more epic style songs as well.

The 'new' direction still has a lot of Pitman and loops and stuff like that, so it's been scaled back, but if you would have told the average GNR fan that they were going with loops, we would have probably flipped. Now it doesn't seem so bad does it?

Goodbye, Blue Sky......... Goodbye.
