Becuase when he says something that doesn't happen, it's "plans changed", or whatever.
What's clear is he is either A.) a good faker or B.) someone who is inside, or C.) at least on the border of inside/outside with permission to be a messenger.
BUT if B or C are true, than he's basically a spokesperson for the band. The information he gives out is information the band wants out or is safe to give out. This doesn't make it more TRUE or not TRUE --- it just makes it the official story. So what he is saying can come from the band but it doesn't make it be true or not true. Authenticity and truthfulness are two different things.
So when he gives info about presales, it's pretty clear where he stands. But when he talks about the condition of 'who is in the band/who is not in the band/what's the deal with the album' it's pretty clear he's not out to tell the whole story but to do PR or damage control.
OTHER sources, on the other hand... have been A.) pretty truthful in content--as we all see now, B.) decidedly NOT playing it safe with when information is given out, and C.) not been as cryptic, personal gain and spin doctoring aside.
That's a good way of putting it.
Insider or not, we'll see if we hear something thursday or friday just like that monday we all(a lot of us) waited on an announcement on the official website
