theres a version of CITR when the pitch is changed, and axl sounds normal...instead of the way he sounds on CITR kinda highpitched/off key.

word is that 'checkmate' is from the the same tape...so is it possible if you change the pitch on checkmate it will sound even more like axl?

i think this rest the case if checkmate is indeed gn'r..the vocals speak for them selves :)
