Email from fortus about Ron a BH
« on: February 01, 2008, 01:13:41 PM »
Man, i don't know what to tell you about Ronald's amps.  I guess they are easy to use?  I honestly don't know.

I love Bucket.  He's an amazing talent and I hope to someday have the honor of playing with him again.  He's a pretty different type of guy though.  I personally got along great with him, but he is a strange one!

Whats the deal with bumblefoot using tubeless line 6 amps which sound very tinny and cheap on a live stage, anyway I'm just wondering if there is any chance of buckethead coming back and could you tell me how the band really got on with him , what was he like?

there good practice amps and for small venues but for a live performance on such a large scale, solid state amps are simply not good enough,  ron uses good guitars but bad amps   he might as well be playing a £100 squire guitar as with these amps live there isnt much difference

I've always thought that he is extremely interesting and being a guitar player i respect him highly, he is a superior player to ron skills wise and as an overall performer, many will disagree however is can't be denied he is much more versatile and plays for Bootsy Collins who in his career has sold much more albums than Gnr. slay me all you like but I I'm honest and like to have an opinion which i usually believe to be as good as fact.

I don't think anyone was bound to give you shit until you come out and say that Buckethead is better, you could have said you preferred him more, but you had to say that he's better..

lol i dont intend to offend anyone but  buckethead is clearly better more original and unique, he stands out and gets noticed wheres bumblefoot is just another shredder who cants always play in key all the time as he trys too hard too impress and he often hits a million bum notes a second, hes just another mindless shredder theres simply nothing special about him. Don't get me wrong hes a great guitar player, but nothing great hes is not necessory in this band. Niether was buckethead but at least he got people talking again which is never a bad thing..

I understand you, and yes Buckethead is very unique and exciting guitar player. Yes, Bumblefoot is maybe less unique, but he fits better in GNR. and the most important thing - he is so cool and down to earth... if I can say my opinion here (bash me or whatever you want to do), I stopped to care about Axl and GNR's arrogant behaviour to us, fans. I am here because the leaked demos are promising, because I like Robin Finck, and because I love Bumblefoot.

well, 2 years ago, when BBF was rumored to join GNR, I was sceptical, afraid of that. but the guy proved me wrong, he's the only GNR member who truly loves his fans, and is not playing a fucking rockstar. in fact, he is VERY similar to BH also in this point of view, because BH also loves his fans. I think it's useless to argue about who is better or worse, we just came to know TWO great players, and we can enjoy their music.

live and let die.

how many bumblefoot albums do u have exactly to say hes not unique makes me think u havent heard any of his solo work. He does impress people so evidently it works and bum notes dude i dont hear any u say he shreds and u hear bum notes either hes extremely bad (unlikely) u have extremely good hearing capable of slowing time (also unlikely) you got no idea what ure actually on about (more likely)

mindless shredder? we still talking about the same guy here?

yeah bucket got them talking but it was all the wrong things
