It's a strange colour it seems to change in different lighting haha, the finish is called 'vampire kiss' some just call it wine red.
It doesn't have any pink it's just a deep reddish colour *shrug*

further I checked out 4 guitars yesterday.
3 Ibanez's and 1 LTD (les paul model)

The les Paul was great and I liked the feel to it.. but the print on the body made me choose this one. The 700 played unique and has a full sound to i clean or overdriven.
so it's gonna be a great guitar on future gigs.

Was the LTD called an EC-401? They come with an EMG 81 in the bridge, mahogany body!
I was thinking about getting one

I'd really like to try one, they do an SG (viper) version too!
I got the impression the 401's were going to be great, they look solid and the hardware is spot on...the cheaper ones don't come with the same pick ups

Is that the robot guitar thing?!! I'd say you should just go for a Jap Les Paul copy....burny, old tokais, edwards....you can always put a Gibson logo on if you need to!

My Edwards Les Paul Jr is the best new guitar I've ever played. Probably because its built exactly how Gibson used to make them back in the 50s. New Gibsons are overpriced and don't play like they should for some reason. RKD has a burny les paul...he'll tell you how much they kick ass too...
