"These days he is regarded by some as almost a Howard Hughes figure, the bearded, sun-baked, wild-eyed survivor," Mick Wall reveals in W.A.R. - The Unauthorized Biography of William Axl Rose. Page Six reported that his long-awaited comeback album, Chinese Democracy, which has been postponed several times the past 15 years, is in limbo and may never be released.

Mick Walls book is actually pretty fair and unbiased.. it is actually amazing to be honest ..  you will have a different perspective on Axl after you read it
 The howard hughes comparisons are pretty justified

 he talks about what happened with the get in the ring deal.. after you read it you may tend to believe his side of the story

 his side of the story is all about the Ax Vs Vince neil episode.. Basically Axl asked him (more like demanded) that he (mick wall) come to Axls house at 3 in the morning for an interview about how Vince punched Izzy out. Well Axl was freaking out saying he was going to kill Vince and smash his "plastic" face.  Axl had Mick tape record the whole thing.  Supposedly Mick had ran the whole article by Axl word for word and he approved it.  When it was published Vince obviously had a shit fit and even challenged axl to a televised fight on MTV. Vince (as talked about in the dirt) still claims anytime anywhere..  Well when it came out  Axl denied alot of the interview and said he couldn't imagine saying shit like that. and stated that Mick made it all up, it is believed that because of GNRs and Motley mutual circle of friends.. some kind of threat came through to Axl making him deny the whole deal

  Mick talked about how.. he was considered one of Axls friends and how he was a total loyalist to the band and couldn't understand why he did what he did and denied the whole thing

 Axls rebuttle was of course the "kind" mention in Get in the Ring.   I guess before the interview they were pretty close

 Mick says in his book .. That this by no means is a "score settling" and a "one up"  and that he would remain as unbiased and tell the story ..    I am only 150 pages in  (started last night)  but the book is fuckin amazing so far
 regardless  of whos side of the story it is ..  alot of it is based on articles that Axl has given to numerous magazines, close friends , band members ..

 and damnit!!! it only makes you want Chinese Democracy more, and more sad that it might never happen
