Whats funny is that you can't seem to tell the difference between being someone who started / formed / and created the band and making a guest appearance on someone else's show....., and being someone hired to play someone else's parts in a band that was formed long before you joined the machine, and just basically being hired to play guitar where ever you can.
First of all Slash did not start GnR, he joined the band later. Even during the time GnR was formed, he played at least one live gig with Black Sheep in May 1985. But I agree Slash was one of the five that formed the band as far as music is concerned.

And you're wrong, Richard was not hired to play someone else's parts, he was hired to be a part of Guns n' Roses. Of course, that means he has to play some live songs someone else wrote music parts for, but that's normal. Otherwise please give us a source that proves that he was only hired for playing the old tunes.
Oh and lets not forget being left in the dark or really having no affiliation with the band.. until you're on stage playing what you've been told to practice.
Unfortunately the policy of the band is to give no information at all. It does not mean that Richard, Robin and the others aren't going into public with information, it means that nobody of the GnR camp is doing it. Somehow I can understand that. We don't know what's going on in the background and speculating or spreading rumours doesn't get us anywhere.
You'll find plenty of people like Mr. Fortus and the like on Craigslist on any day under "Hired Gun" or "Guitar Mercenary looking for work".
There are indeed a lot of people looking for such an opportunity. But I don't look at any of the current members being a "hired gun". Maybe that's the difference between you and me. I am not attacking you because of your view, everyone should be able to think of it the own way. And I always consider in a good discussion that everyone's opinion is equal. Mine is not better than yours and vice cersa. Sorry if I offended you by my previous post.
