haha the new Multiplayer Hands on tells of a mode called "Cops N Crooks" which sounds like a real hoot. basically it starts out with say teams of whatever number you choose. one team choose to be the cops, the other the crooks. then it starts. one of the crooks is assigned the "Boss" title and it is the others job to get this "Boss" to a specific location for a getaway. on the radar of the crooks is the point. remember the WHOLE CITY is open. however the Crooks start on foot. the cops on the other hand spawn in cars, it is their job to kill the boss, however they cannot see where the crooks are heading to and thus need to figure out how to outsmart them. the only icon the cops have on their radar is the "Boss" icon. its not as simple as running out guns blazing and getting away, its about thinking ahead of your opponents and getting to the point before the cops get your boss or for the cops, covering all options of getting to the boss before he gets to the getaway point. this game's single player alone is immense. the multiplayer is like another game on top. you can find the previews at IGN, Gamespot and all the regular places. 20 days remain

A little info on the 5 boroughs and the meanings of their names:

• Brooklyn is Broker: Broker, Outer Hebrides — village in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. Rockstar North are located in Scotland, a homage to the game devolper's homeland.
• Manhattan is Algonquin: Algonquin is a native American tribe. The tribe has also given its name to the Lenape or Lenni-Lenape who where the people who named Manhattan. They spoke a Algonquian language.
• Queens is Dukes: A Duke is a title given to the son and sometime daughter of a country's soverigns (Queens). This implies that Dukes, in Liberty City, is the son of Queens in New York City. Intrestingly enough, New York was also named after the Duke Of York.
• New Jersey is Alderney: Alderney is a Channel Island and British Crown Dependency alike Jersey (which New Jersey was named after, funnily enough).
• Bronx is Bohan: Bohan is the piece of skin that connects the penis to the scrotum. Typical Rockstar humour that implies that Bronx is the "nutsack of New York City."

• Starbucks is Bean Machine: Play on the words of the British film Mean Machine. Makes reference to a Bean of Coffee.
• MetLife is GetaLife: Implying that someone (maybe us?) should get a life.
• Sprite is Sprunk: Play on the word "Spunk", a euphonism for semen.
• Coca-Cola is E-Cola: Play on the word E-Coli, a bacteria that causes food poisoning.
• Budweiser is Logger Beer: Lager is a well attenuated beer brewed in cool conditions using a slow-acting brewers yeast, known as a bottom-fermenting yeast, and then stored (or "lagered") for a period in cool conditions to clear away particles and certain flavour compounds to produce a clean taste. The most popular examples of beer brewed using the lager method are pale lagers, also known as largers.
• Taco Bell/KFC is Cluckin' Bell: A reference to the orginal franchise. In some places "Bell" is a slang term for penis. And Cluckin' is an obvious reference to roosters (also known as Cocks).
• Panasonic is Panoramic: In its most general sense, a panorama is any wide view of a physical space. It has also come to refer to a wide-angle representation of such a view — whether in painting, drawing, photography, film/video, or a three-dimensional model. Further, the motion-picture term, pan or panning, is derived from "panorama". Whereas Panasonic are an electronics company who produce wide-screen TVs.
• Max Factor is Max Renda: Max Factor is a make-up company. Whereas make-up is designed to make people look aesthetically pleasing, Renders are made to make a 3D model similarly pleasing.
• Timex is Kronos: Kronos is a reference to the Greek deity Chronos, the "embodiment of time." And to a lesser extent, Cronus/Cronos/Kronos, the father of Zeus. Kronos, in GTA IV, appears to be a watch manufactuer.
• FlyBe.com is flyUS: Play on the words of the Exeter based airline.
• Burger King is Burger Shot: May make reference to the "Money Shot," a slang term for the male ejaculation during pornographic films. That in turn, may refrence the rumours of Burger King employee's ejaculating or excreting other bodily fluids into customer's food.
• MTV is MeTV: Play on words of the popular television channel. May be making reference to the egotistical nature of many of the station's shows.
• CNN is CNT: Play on words of the American News station. When read as a single word it is pronounced "c*nt" a slang term for the vagina.
• Corona is Pißwasser: Pißwasser is German for "Piss Water." Makes reference to the orginal product's habit of spoiling due to the fact that it is stored in a clear bottle, unlike other beers. May also make reference to the colour of the product, which is similar to the colour of dehydrated urine.
• 7-11 is 24-7: Play on words to do with time.

The official site has been updated and the PS3 boxart back has been leaked. showing that the game is Region Locked, supports 720p, 1080i, 1080p and also has Sixaxis compatibility. it also takes up 3mb of your hard drive

sure does, however just because it says that 1080i and 1080p is available this may be due to the PS3's ability to upscale images because i think it was confirmed to be a natice 720p resolution. which is the resolution of ALL games out right now, cept Gran Turismo 5 Prologue on PS3. also i doubt i'll be using the Sixaxis unless Rockstar has done a good job of tweaking it about. cos it can be really sloppy at times haha

Official Xbox Magazine has got the first review out, giving the game a perfect 10 out of 10

Official Xbox Magazine is the first magazine to review Grand Theft Auto IV. Subscribers in the UK began receiving their issues today.

The verdict from OXM is:

* Amazingly realistic world.
* Stunning action set pieces.
* Genuinely engrossing storyline.
* Hugely entertaining multiplayer.
* Vast in every respect.

...and the final score given by OXM is 10 out of 10.

So there you have it. There's a whole bunch of new screenshots including HUD shots, so be sure to pick up this issue if you can find it in your area.
