In this month's MOJO interview, the world's last standing guitar hero talks snakes, heart defibrillators, heroin, the departure of Velvet Revolver's Scott Weiland and why he'll always have a "tight" relationship with old chum Axl. Plus! We revisit Slash's 10 greatest recorded moments and delve into the labyrinthine world of Chinese Democracy.

I feel sorry for Axl Rose sometimes as it's painfully obvious to the world he just wants to live out his life in privacy now, Slash just permantely has his hands in Axl's pockets dining on the same old tired stories time and time again.

I used to respect Slash and love the guy as a legend but ever since after the first year of Contraband the guy has progessively become such an ego driven media dominanting asshole no one can seeminly escape from.

I swear to god i've seen him on the front cover of three different musical magazines this month in the shop yesterday what a joke.

I've read Slash's book and I understand why Axl couldn't continue to work with the guy. Slash himself said he was a self-destructive person. When things go well Slash always finds a way to make things complicated. And from the VR albums, I see that Slash needs to be challenged and pushed to be at his best, something that clearly wasn't the case with VR. Axl on the other hand, brought the best out of Slash. He was the fuel that fed Slash's fire.

Yea...  Bad Bad Slash, why does he talkabout his life in interviews and the people and expirences he has had... It would be like Paul Mcartney still talking about his time with the Beatles.. oh wait he does that. or it would be like...
\sarcasm off
What do you peple think they ask him in interviews?

Yeah but remember he wrote his book so he wouldn't have to keep talking about GNR.... When they ask him about GNR he should just say, read the book and ask him about something else.

But he's always out to remind everyone that he was in GNR any way he can.... Take away the the top-hat, the cig hanging out the mouth, the same hairstyle he's had for 20years, and the same old talk about his gnr days, and what are you left with? That's what he should think about.

At least AXL's name is out there in big letters
on a magazine...
So many people think that GnR are over...
For example.. this guy I work with, who is
totally into music... usually the newest latest
and greatest bands.. thinks its over for GnR,
who back in the day he was into..anyway he
is convinced that Chinese Democracy is going to flop..
It pisses me off terribly that he is not even anticipating..
the cd.
(scom just came on the
radio heheheheh)
I know he is just one guy... but he thinks he speaks
for his entire generation... and he is 33..

I know he is stuck in a sterotypical world.

Why Shouldnt h, Thats who he is, he made the greatest music and played the best concerts when he was in GNR there is no denying that. This is Slash the guy with the top Hat, the guy with the awesome guitar playing, The guy with the cigarret hangin in his mouth The Guy who made Paradice city and Welcome to the jungle happen wit the rest of the band, why should he leave that behind... And why do you think Axl plays those songs everynight?
As hard of some of you fans try to forget how this band came to life and what they did.. There will always be someone that reminds you of it.
I love the new band but gets me pissed  everytime i see some new fans try and smear what GNR did before 1994.

He has done that. Right around the time Libertad came out, him and Dave did an interview for Total Guitar and Slash told them that he didn't want to answer any questions about GNR, because that was the past. Well that was before Libertad was a flop.

Scott will be joining GnR on air guitar. Fuelled primarily by heroin and aids.
