Tight connection? Slash clearly needs to move on... they haven't spoken in 12 years.

yea i didnt mean you.
But for example i know HBK hates slash and smack talks about him most the time (in the spanish section) then he is always posting things about slash here, in the main news section, why? to provoque the kind of reactions we have, those that dont like Slash are usualy the first one to be posting whenever the is news or mention of him.
Heck if i Dont like someone or dislike their attiutude etc, i dont spend my time talking about him or even looking for info about him.If you dont like the guy thats just fine, and everyone is entitled to their opinions, i just think this thread is in the wrong section. Unless you guys like bashing a bit before complaining thats in this section.

Nevermind my rant.. its just the same old story :)

That happens because every time I'm listening to the radio or watching TV, I hear them mention GN'R and I run and turn it up. Then I sit through 50 commercials just to find out it's about Slash and VR. So since I wasted my time, I figure I might as well hear what they have to say.  :disgust:
If you don't like Chinese Democracy, please pull your head out of your ass and listen again!

Can't wait till the band breaks its silence and it's a lot more interesting than rehashing ancient history.

Oops, didn't even read that post, but yeah Slash must know he's only got so long before he can no longer get a cover story just by mentioning GNR so he's trying to make the most of it.

Yeah, I bought this.

I love it when they ask him 'In December 2001 you tried to attend a Guns gig at The Joint in Las Vegas and Axl had you turned away. Have you forgiven him that?

Slash: Sure. What's done is done. I've always had that soft spot in my heart and there's a tight connection between Axl and I that no amount of mud-slinging can erase, I guess because we came from nowhere together.

---

Although I thought that it wasnt Axl that turned him away, and he didn't even know Slash was there. But oh well
I think it was Doug Goldsteins ( former GNR manager) decission and that Axl knew it later or so I read.
Axl was and is the soul of gnr imo but we cant forget Slash has been an icon too. If you ask someone about gnr ( fan or not) the first thing that comes to mind is Axl and Slash, why? because they were the charismatic icons of the band. And with this I dont mean to disrespect the other members but people dont usually think of Duff or Izzy when a conversation of gnr is brought up.
I love the current band, Ive seen them live and I would give whatever I could to see them live again, really. But the same happens with the new guys, they are amazing and very talented and everytime they give an interview people are more interested in them as gnr members than in their side projects.

So it is normal that Slash is asked about Axl/GNR over and over. He was part of one of the greatest rock bands of all times and like it or not this cannot be forgotten. Whether you like the guy or not this is unavoidable, although I must admit I started losing respect for him when at the beginning of VR they all dressed like the current gnr to joke them.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Everyone loves Slash.. Not everyone loves Axl
No one ever calls Slash an asshole...

I love Slash. I love when Slash used to be in Guns N' Roses.
That being said Slash is an asshole and a liar.

You know what I find interesting? How Slash lies about what he did or didn't say, then
he is exposed as a liar, yet people refuse to vilify any of his actions. Yet when Axl is late for
one or two shows, it's "AXL ROSE....MADMAN....ALWAYS LATE...RIOT-STARTER....etc".

"A fool finds no pleasure in understanding, but delights in airing his own opinions".
That pretty much sums up the negative press that Axl's been getting for the last 15 years and
as a fan of the man's work, it's disgusting.

The fact is that Slash isn't in Guns N' Roses anymore. He helped Axl make GNR great, yes,
and I would have liked to see them work things out. But they didn't. Now there is a new lineup
but they rock just as hard and are in many ways a reinvention for a new generation. That's why
"Chinese Democracy" will be a success. At the very least it'll be a new band putting out incredible
music that will be loved by tons of fans and most likely garner great reviews by critics. There were
a lot of critics who were silenced when they saw Gn'R play blowaway shows in 2006, others loved the
new songs but felt they needed a couple of changes, others at the least said it was way better than VR.
It will reaffirm the strength of the human spirit and show what's great about music and show what we've
been missing since Gn'R was last at the throne. That's what I think and hope for the band.

But Slash's veiled insults won't do him or anybody any good. He still thinks that he is "in the know",
but he's not. He's clearly bitter and hasn't moved on. Axl is more honest and direct about his anger
and frustration, while Slash is a snake in the grass.

I'm not saying Axl's completely right or Slash is completely right or whatever. But Slash isn't in
the band anymore and he needs to move on. And if he has any chance of becoming friends with Axl
again that's going to take a lot of honesty and humility on his part. On both of their parts. But it's
hard for Axl to trust someone who is negative and deceptive all of the time, and that's why it's not
happening.

Don't expect too much, many people have spent 15 years waiting for this album, it'd better be perfect or it will be the biggest lapidation of all times...
