Having a band with millions of fans around the world equals to tons of different opinions about your music.

They have hardly been slated. The vast majority have been warmly recieved. If Mr Rose bit the bullet and released completed songs and albums, he might find the harshness of the world not as severe as he imagines.

"You Decide,
Cause I dont have to.
Then they'll find,
And I wont ask you.
At anytime,
Or long thereafter,
If its cold outside,
As i'm imagining it to be.... All alone."

No Axl, come in and fell the warmth.
"I've come to know the cold,
I think of it as home.
When there ain't enough of me,
To go around,
I'd rather be left alone."

If his biggest fear is an opinion, than he is probably in the wrong business.

Luckily for us, he chose to do what he does.  :phrozen:

dude, what are you talking about? exactly that's the point, if these songs would be new material by a man called axl rose they would be really impressive, but they aren't, they're new material from the legendary band called guns n' roses and seen as guns n roses songs they're just dissapointing! it has nothing to do with a new style guns n roses is making, ist just that these songs are far away from being as good as what guns n roses used to do on afd or the uyi's. if axl would release this music under a different name...i would say: amazing! but he's releasing it under the name guns n roses and sorry, these songs don't have the quality of guns n roses songs, because they aren't guns n roses songs, they're axl rose songs. this stuff is a shame for the legacy of the old members! that has completley nothing to do with a wishing for a afd II or a new uyi! it's because of the quality guns n roses stood for.

I know this post is days old but I am just getting around to reading it. There is only one thing that trumps your arguement.. These songs havn't been RELEASED under any name  Axl Rose or GNR  they have been leaked under the assumption that it is GNR (of course it is Axl and the gang but still..) Part of the hold up could be your arguement !! management could be pushing that songs like this are an Axl Rose product and not GNR

yes they have played Madagascar, The blues, Chi Dem and Better live but you have to admit those songs are in the vein of UYI

without any offical release or statment , other than Ron saying they are old demos  we have no idea what these songs were intended for.. shit if the world could have just been something that Axl messed around with (yes Metalheads and Buttrockers  can try funk and pop)  that he never intended to release or have "the public" hear

as I have said before.. would it still be "cool"  for a 46 year old man to be writing songs about running from the cops and getting drunk on nighttrain ? This is a mature Axl, not what the general public may want but it is the only Axl we have ... but for all we know he could be sitting on the next AFD

Here is another thing if Axl tried to recreate AF he would get bashed for sounding too 80s. Plus who wants to hear a 40 year old singing about getting laid and doing drugs? Axls lyrics now are much better than he had on AFD and even UYI.  I think the two new  songs are right up there with estranged and nov rain. Like I said before i think they are both better than patience and dont cry.

The funny thing about Axl is, no matter if people love the leaks or hate them he stll gets tons of press for it.
No other rock singer gets this, remember a few  years ago when Jon Bon Jovi was pissed that Axls leaks got more attention than his new album? What does that tell  you?

again I made the mistake of not reading all the posts.. I just basically said the same thing.. right on man

Or they just don't like it! The new style is something new. And doesn't sound like GNR at all. You can't say that any of the new songs sounds like the old one! For myself: I love TWAT! And Better, The Blues and I.R.S. are also good. But Rhiad sucks in my opinion....! The untitled one has hit potential..... just needs better vocals, but it is pretty good!

the untitled one 's vocals are killer... and rhiad.... well it has potential... the "all my salvation" part is fucking brilliant.. but the verse parts suck...

critics are eternally cynical.....
unless they have a hardon for an artist....(radiohead, white stripes....anyone remember the fucking strokes?)
Nothing can duplicate the chemistry and the sound of the original band... or the second incarnation... shit.. i remember when UYI came out.... i hated a large chunk of it... i would fast fucking forward thru estranged and so fine and breakdown.... i was fucking 13....

i pissed and moaned about dizzy...  matt sorum... i had a certain expectation....
it was waaaay too polished.. and there were too many "epic ballads".... but you know?.. it grew on me. Fast.
Now.. only "my world" still has me sayin'....?

that interview with hit parader, back in the day? i bought that issue specifically for the "mini mag" interview with axl.. the one where he mentions "this i love".... even then, i remember him saying he saw gnr as a "conststantly evolving thing"..... i love slash.. he is NOWHERE close to BH or BF as a guitarist... but he had his own vibe... one that Robin has come pretty close to duplicating. Listen to the solo in Better... it almost sounds like slash.... but seriously, fuck slash... the true genius' in the original line up?...Axl and IZZY... member him?
axl pissed everyone off.. he didn't give a shit... truly. he quickly developed a reputation as an arrogant, self absorbed fucking asshole.... now the media are fucking punishing him for it...
he may have been... but whether he is or not is irrelavent.... he writes good shit... all we've heard are DEMOS and they're better than half the shit on any of  gnr's back catalog an waaay better than anything VR or Izzy has squeezed out in the last fucking decade... prepare to be amazed. fuck being stuck in the past... my musical taste leans toward heavy shit (mastodon, tallica, pantera etc) and i think this shit is INCREDIBLE.... they're demos.... christ.... ok.. end of rant
