you guys are great, have you read the ipod manual? it adresses this hold down the center button and the menu button at the same time to RESET your ipod you dont need to reformat. on an odd note something similiar did happen to my ipod :ninja:

well, anything by Apple is a fashion accessory, not real thing. I recommend players by iRiver for example.

there must be something i can do without needing to restore it, i have held center and menu buttons and reset it but none of this is working... :/

put it this way - leaks can't damage anything, it's just a music stream. seems your device is broken, so RMA it
