More Reunion Talk--from Matt Sorum

Interview is in audio format on the bottom--sounds like he thinks it is going to happen.  Other music insiders feel the same way.

I think Matt is pretty cool.
And its true, Matt said some shit, Axl said some shit, Slash was all doped, duff was a alcoholic, adler was dying with drug abuse, izzy was quitting on the drugs and the touring lifestyle. It all hapened because of all this stuff together. Axl's behavior was also because of this stuff and also his personal problems with his wife and other stuff.
So i think it could be possible a reunion, but the hardest part to me is to convince Axl to do so.

Forgiveness is a hard thing for a person that is so proud as Axl, and besides this band stucked with him for so much time, that it would be extremely unfair for them to just be fired so a reunion could be possible.

And then again, what would they do??? they would just tour for 1 or 2 years and then its over again?? that would suck... no future there... its not worth for Axl to get rid of this band just for one tour.

Slash already said he would be interested in doing a tour with Axl and the rest of the band, but he always denied another record or any other kind of project.

So it would be a big letdown if Axl reunited and got rid of this awesome band that they built just for one tour.
There's no unheard songs out there, its all a big lie! And even if there were, They are low crap quality demos that didnt make it to CD anyways...

well if they ever do do it, it's better with him than steven adler because then they can play use your illusion songs. plus steven adler is a drug addicted loser and always will be. if he hasn't gotten clean by now he never will.

If they get together for a tour they will definitely stay together. Remember there are lots of new fans of (old) GN'R  that never get to see them play live, like me, I got to see Axl in 2006 but I'm still hungry for the original lineup and I won't die happy if I don't get to see them live. Besides almost all (original) GN'R concerts were sold out, so they are going to make a lot of money even if they just tour for 1 year.

You lined up quite a few good points there man.

Besides that, I just have one more thing to add:
How come that some former bandmembers and ppl in general starts raising rumors of a reunion now?
Maybe they're just sniffing a possible great success ahead, with the (I hope?) near-future CD album on its way to be shitten out into the world? I for one hopes and thinks that Axl and GNR is gonna make a whole lot of money there, and they deserve it.

ya interesting interview.   I know everyone loves to hate on matt.  but the guy means well in the end.  He knows that he will never be a part of something so successful as GnR!!   He has some years under his belt now, and sees that most lead singers are pricks.
I think that they all ( slash, duff, izzy, matt) wish axl well on Chinese Democracy- they are just as excited to hear his genius as everyone else.   They just wish that it wasn't under "guns N Roses" because they want to be a part of something successful!!   Everyone knows its hard to live up to the hype of 14 yrs of studio time.  But they know what axl brought to the table- even if it came with a cost..
Its just ironic now that the timing is now- that VR needs a singer, and ( they all could use the $$$$)

In the long run i wouldn't mind to see them get back together for a tour to make money( im sure there will still be a little debt to pay off Geffen/Universal)  I am one of them old Gnr Fans that never got to see them live as the original group-  and it would be something for all gnr fans to get to see again.     :tear:
But for the best for axl and New Gnr -  lets focus on the now and blow peoples minds with out Saul Hudson  :slywink:
