and tell me this. Why did Axl not show up on '20th universary of APFD'? All of them was there but 'mr. solution did not show up'.

 

If you had a shitty lifestyle for years and were addicted to drugs and then years later became sober, would you want to hook back up with the people who made you unhappy and who might influence you to start using again?

Axl's not the problem, he is the solution. It's a pitty that Steven, Slash and Duff have all thrown their lives away because of drugs. CD > Reunion

As far as I know the only one who is really fucked up is Steven. I dont know if Slash and Duff are clean but I dont think they have thrown their lives away because of drugs.

 Also he has put so much time and effort (or at least it seems that way) into the new GNR .. If Axl would have shown up at the AFD anniversary   people would have went nuts about it   and that is all the media would have talked about (in terms of GNR   is reunion reunion)  It would have negated his efforts

 and besides.. it is publized many places that they blame Axls behavior and him taking the name as why they all quit.. I am sure Axl either didn't want to walk back to them with open arms

And I bet he doesnt even want a reunion.As you say, hes been working hard with the current band.

There never will be a reunion, Axl is too stubborn and proud to ever do it. He's moved on anyway. And Slash and Duff did some pretty good stuff with Velvet Revolver when they 'moved on' too, so there's no real need for a reunion. It's all greedy, record company gossip.

Still, it's strange to listen to the new Guns songs - a lot of them could, theoretically, be about the break-up of the original band rather than a relationship break-down. I'm not saying they are, they're probably not, but it's an interesting angle to look at Axl's new material from. I think anyway... could be wrong.

Steven is beyond fucked up. Slash is OK but keeps slipping, he fell off the wagon quite publicly last year.Duff can't fall off the wagon or he'll die. Matt's vice is women.Izzy's clean,has been for years.

A reunion would be terrible. The rest of the guys are still doing the same stuff they did 20 years ago,more or less.Only Axl has moved with the times and tried to change and further himself. And guess what? VR have fallen apart, and Axl is gearing up to take over the world. Only bigger and better because there's no crackheads holding him back this time.

And the current band members have been in the band longer than the original ones ( with all respect to the original guys  ) so I think its time to consider them good gunners

I think all this talk of Axl releasing albums - shouldn't we wait until he releases one single, at least. Every other band/artist announce album release dates months in advance (and stick to them, give or take a week). Axl has proven himself to be unreliable. Unfortunately.

Maybe we should wait until we get solid details before getting carried away about getting 3 albums worth of stuff in a couple of weeks time with absolutely no promotion, interviews etc.

We won't see the album till quite a way into 2009. Which isn't good or bad, it's just what's realistically going to happen.

The record companies stifle/stagger album releases so that the album reaches its' optimum sales as soon as possible - after Christmas/New Year isn't a notoriously busy time, most people are trying to recover financially from their christmas spending. So Chinese Democracy would have to be released before Christmas this year if we are to hear it before March/April 09.

And that's not realistically going to happen. It takes time to make the physical CDs, make album art, print the sleeves, launch a tv radio and magazine marketing campaign, possibly arrange some sort of mini-tour...

Gah,  Steven seems to be a really nice, fun, and cool person.  It's a shame he has an addiction though.  I hope alleged doesnt mean its true, for his sake, but,  if it is true I hope he can conquer his addiction, and make his lief better.

i agree with you, "I got a message for you, open away is what 'I' got to do" axl singing to us about himself on why he needed to change, old axl to new 'corn rolled' axl. Thats the beauty of his lyrics you can interpret it many ways.
