Is Robin out of the band?

Well i serve the U.S. Air Force and just recently returned from the middle east. So i have been a fan of Guns N' Roses for 21 years now and i also like NIN. I went to the Hammerstein GN'R show in NY too. So i wanted to make up for the news i've missed and i can see that this might actually be the year of Chinese Democracy, so thats pretty darn cool. However i was browsing through the NIN website and woah....WTF? Robin Finck? Wow have i missed some huge news. I mean excluding Axl (of course), Robin was the heart of this new GN'R Sound. So is he out temporarily until the NIN tour ends or is he out for good? (please say it ain't so).


I also miss buckethead (such talent) and if Robin is gone, then the heart of this new GN'R is gone. I means it's their work on the leaks and most likely the final album.

djohno thanks for the link. Well i guess the whole Robin situation is still a big mystery, hope he returns to GN'R in time for Chinese Democracy, whenever that happens.

to ErEr, More leaks? I have the Blues, Better, Madagascar, IRS, There was a Time and Chinese Democracy on studio quality plus i have Catcher in the Rye on not so good quality plus a 15 seconds clip of a song called Check Mate.  Are there any more leaks?

yup more leaks. We have all new leaks of the songs you have already (minus catcher) and three new songs: Rhaid, If the World, and an untitled track #2. So 9 new leaks.

"surprise" and unexpected..... is the situation inside GN'R that unprofessional? I mean for Robin to leave so sudden and unexpectedly, something happened that we still don't know about. Or maybe it's robin's way of pressuring Axl and the label to release CD soon or he is out.

Cool new leaks ,I must do some searching now. But i wonder with so many leaks out there, what's Chinese Democracy got to offer? I was reading the forums and read about Schackler's Revenge (Reminds me of the Atlas Shrug name that was talked about a few years ago), so i bet it would also be leaked soon.

So my point is, these leaks must have been somewhat intentional to keep the fanbase talking about it and interested. I'm thinking Chinese Democracy is gonna be a huge album because Axl has not pushed the panic button yet and released the album yet with so much new material running around the internet.

Guns N Roses 'declined to comment any further at that time'

Notice how the first meaningful GNR Chinese Democracy promotion- 'Shackler's Revenge' on RockBand II, is in September- just after Robin finished the NIN tour.

I think Shackler's Revenge is the first part of a GNR wave of promotion to get the album out some time this fall, and also- just after the Olympic Games to get the whole 'Chinese' theme as part of it. That means Robinis free to help GNR throughout fall with the potential release of the new album.

Makes sense, right?

He is not out of the band, unless they announce he is.
