GN'R references in Movies, TV, Music, and More
« on: July 23, 2008, 04:21:10 AM »
im watching Craig Ferguson right now and they showed a clip from the movie Step Brothers and it was a husband, wife, and two little girls in the back of a car singing/harmonizing (with no music) sweet child. The guy even does the solo. Pretty awesome.

well.. though this may not be the biggest news on the page  it does say a couple things

The Axl/slash/Duff lawsuits over blocking music from films has been taken care of ..  which is a good sign

This is a higher profile movie I suppose.. at least it will remind people of GNR at what seems to be a time of growing momentum

remember when sheryl crow rerecorded sweet child for the movie big daddy?  talk about audio sodomy.  I just saw that movie again for the first time in a while the other day, and let me just say that might be the most despicable cover i've ever heard in my life.

Yeah, and to add to this blurb, I heard WTTJ in the trailer for the movie "Death Race", which is a remake of "Death Race 2000" and it looks completely awful. I mean, not even rental worthy. From what I've heard, the original wasn't so great either but, they spent a lot less money and it became a cult movie.

They chopped the shit out of Jungle, so it sounds pretty dumb....a very bad edit. It was like they wanted a kick ass song but, ran out of room for it sound good/make sense.

It wasn't so cool to hear it like that and with a movie that looks like it will be total formulaic action bullshit, filled with dumbass one-liners. Ugh...fuckin' PASS!!!  I wish Axl had passed on that one......

In other worthless news, Jason Mraz mentions GN'R in his new song "The Dynamo of Volition".

The lyric mentioning them is:

While waiting for guns and the roses
To finish what we all suppose is
Gonna be the shit that's silly
