Thanks for all of the great information and contributions guy.  I suppose with the success of the Eagles CD Chinese Democracy will have a good chance to say the least.

I just hope they take great care...

the eagles deal with walmart made them $50M...so to the people who go on about not making up the $13m invested in Chinese Democracy, it kinda shows that amount can be repaid

it was $13M invested in 3 albums, not just one.

If CD was released and only distributed by either Wal*Mart or Best Buy wouldn't that put a huge cap on the market for CD?  I mean I am sure they will have enough copies but I think any and every store that sells CD's should have it.  It is more convenient for the customers.

Actually it is a brilliant idea. Think about it...this album has cost $13 million. They are desperately trying to find a way to make up as much of that cost as they can. That's why you see Shackler's Revenge in Rock Band. So the next step is starting a bidding way between Best Buy and Wal-Mart to make them even more money. The only potentially damaging thing I see coming from it is that it will not allow the album to be sold on iTunes.

For example Im from Europe. Here in Spain we dont have Walmart or best buy I have to book it from internet? There will be a lot of illegal downloads if people have to buy it in this way. A lot. Im a fan but who isnt a fan...

A deal like this would only be for people in the United States. The album will be sold through other retail channels in other countries.

Actually itunes can hurt your album sales, people buy single tracks for $0.99, instead of paying $9.99 for the album.

Hopefully the album isn't censored and we get every intended CD song on it if it is sold at Wal*Mart.

These are two examples of why fan forums are bad. Most people could give a rats ass about Axl and Chinese Democracy. Most who do, wouldn't want the pictures etc you'd get from an album. But the "hardcore" fans(the ones Axl hates most) will buy anything and everything.

No, to Bucket!
