GNR & Side Projects
« on: September 23, 2008, 03:44:31 PM »
I wanna say a opinion about a thing that bothers me for a while it is about side projects of gnr members of band.I think that is very bad for reputation of band that members like Robin Finck plays in two bands in the same time and it is also awful that Richard Fortus plays for Rhianna and Gnr.My point is that gnr member need to direct all actions on his band and not on his side projects or some thing like that and it is too bad for reputation of band that you play with rn'b star and in the same time you are the big rocker imagine Keith Richards with Britney or Kirk Hammet with Mariah Carey i think that is shitty to the bone. What do you think boys n' girls about that ?  :puke: >(

i don't care.  NIN is kick ass and i wouldn't want to sit around not playing while some braided dude waits to put out an album.

I don't think they've been given a choice; sure, they could just sit around and wait for the record to drop, but who wants to do that.

It doesn't matter who they decide to play with, in my opinion, that isn't what defines them as people.  Maybe they actually DO need the money and would like to get paid for their talents.  Just saying.

Just my two cents.

with all due respects to them all, in the end they are all more or less just a touring/session band.

they all have their other commitments they aren't just tied to gnr

serj tankian's fcc do stuff like that all the time

hmm Axl Rose and The Flying C*** of China

it could happen...  :paranoid:

What else is there two do? It's not like they get much Royalties, they haven't released anything They also are musicians and need play music, it's what they enjoy doing.
Let's face it, it's Axl's band. I'm not saying they don't contribute creatively, it's obvious they do but Axl calls the shots, so they just have to wait for him to do so
IT IS REALLY HAPPENING!

Yeah but why not making more music and put some creativity and energy in your own band ?

What about the 52 recorded songs... We really can not predict how
the whole thing will go down... When is the NIN tour over?...
Robin is still in GnR right? I'm sure Fortus won't be torn over
leaving Rhianna.... There is a master plan I am sure...
I can't wait to see them again... in Pittsburgh this time..
NOT Cleveland...

It's a sign that they don't stay creatively idle. They got to be in the band in the first place because of all the fresh influences and experience they bring to the band. I'm glad GN'R hasn't got players whose esteem seems to depend almost entirely on a gunner... as we've seen in the past...
