one book, although not overly scary still gave me the creeps was The Stand by Stephen King, mainly because i became really absorbed into the book, As for scary horror films i still to this day have never been as scared as i was watching a BBC drama called Ghostwatch http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghostwatch man i was 14 when that aired and didnt realise it was a drama, as it was done in documetary style, it scared the piss outta me.
oh wont you please take me home

Amityville Horror

Amityville Horror was this little red book that I found in my high school library. Its based off a true story of murders and I'm sure most of you seen the movies. but this little red blood color book freaked my paranoid mind out the hell. I read half of the book then I stopped when I started waking up each night at 3 am.

The Amityville Horror - A True Story is a best-selling book by author Jay Anson, published in September 1977. The allegedly true events the book recounts also formed the basis of a series of films released between 1979 and 2005. The book is said to be based on actual paranormal events, but has led to controversy and lawsuits over its truthfulness.

The book that I got the most thrill from reading was Duma Key by Stephen King.  If any of you have read it, probably the point at which I freaked out was towards the end of the book, don't worry no spoiler, when he comes back in and the sand is all throughout the house and he see's her at the top of the steps.  That part for me was intense.  I love it!

I'm looking forward to getting his new book very soon!!!

Leviticus

Seriously, that section of the Old Testament of The Bible is fucking mental; "I am God, this is justice; rape and kill those who disagree or I'll send wild animals to eat your children."

WATERSHIP DOWN

Don't let its Universal rating fool you, this is the scariest movie ever. The fights scenes towards the end are a blur of blood and rabbit fur. It is horrific.

There's a movie coming out called Quarauntine but it's a remake of a spanish movie called [REC] that's some scary shit the fist time you watch it [REC] that is should check it out, Reminds me of the Descent that was okish.

I tell you what's a shit movie but the whole concept is pretty fucking scary 'The Strangers' like just go torture and kill random people cause they answer the door fucking lulz.

One the most indirect scary movie and books of all time in my opinion is 2001: Space Odessy. It scary cause the whole ghost in the machine argument it's true AI will see us as replaceable eventually no matter what Asmiov would rather tell you other wise.

Frankenstein presents one of the best arguments for it as well in creation of life terms as well.

Lastly lulz Dante's divine comedy what a fucking fruit loop. But it puts the chill in you reading those first ten pages of Inferno and how fucked up the whole of paradiso is.
