MCcain destroyed Obama, Obama even sat there at one point with his head down, he was knew he was getting destroyed. MCcain took the facts, and made his point, cleary and offensively. Not to mention Obama couldnt even answer a question, when the mod. asked him about one thing, he went off on totally different subject. Not to mention he beat around the bush, instead of saying "heres my plan, this is how it works," He says things like "well, see this group of people are this, so this is why they think my plan is better." McCain concentrated more on attacking Obama than outlining his own policies. It worked to a certain extent but he certainly did not "destroy" Obama. I could argue the opposite. Obama still came across as the more able candidate and I might even say he shaded the contest. McCain did well, but it's not going to be nearly enough. He did well on trying to keep Obama on the back foot but overall, the debate isn't going to swing many voters either way, as the same bunch of people who think McCain's ideas are ludicrious (like myself) haven't been swayed to the contrary and vice versa. I still think McCain should have spoken more about his own policies though, instead of attacking Obama over his negative campaigning and paling around with less than reputable people and organisations. And playing the victim card over John Lewis' comments was pathetic

So, McCain did well, but it won't be nearly enough. I don't know if you're imagining Schieffer laughing at Obama, there's no need to be clutching at straws. Then again, I was sleepy

I watched and saw both of them dancing around certain questions which sucked. I like that McCain came out on the offensive but instead of that Ayers (spl?) dude, he should have brought up Obama's preacher if he was trying to make the American public question Obama's judgment.

I saw Obama crack a few times when attacked and have this big dumb smile on his face.. even having himself one of those Clinton like fake laughs here and there but for the most part he played it cool. I have like to see Obama get a little aggressive but instead he just kept routing everything back to helping the "middle class".

I wish they had done all those Town Hall debates Obama said he would before, but later lied and backed down.

I REALLY liked when McCain called him a straight liar and Obama had no response for it. If anyone called me a liar about something I'd definitely be upset.. but then again maybe Obama doesn't give a shit about what you call him out on as long as the "middle classed" are being helped by the successful Americans being forced to "spread the wealth around".

Fuck that.

But anyway.. we'll see who comes out on top.

I shall refer ye to the polls, for they are what count here.  At the end of the day the point of these debates is to get people to vote for you, not to impress an individual typing their opinion on the internet.  It doesn't matter whether you think McCain owned or I think Obama actually outlined his ideas whereas McCain just tried to look aggressive even though he must have realised by now that the negative campaigning thing is proving seriously unpopular among the general populace.

Anyways, the polls, as I said

CNN - Obama 58% vs McCain 31%
CBS - Obama 53% vs McCain 22%

Apparently FOX News's poll even had Obama winning it comfortably.

The polls suggest that in fact your boy Johnny was the one getting destroyed, although I personally don't think he did that badly.

First off, if you payed ANY attention, Obama was writing down notes, you could see the pen in his hand.
McCain only attacked Obama big time, but Obama was able to remain calm and defend himself and show his plan! McCain did not do enough to seperate himself from Bush. Obama showed his plan, who it will effect, and why it will work! McCain didn't, he made false claims (check the fact checking) and only attacked Obama. He did a good job personally, but not enough to win or turn it around.

I do hope you keep all this in mind when the government ask you to build your own roads, educate your own kids and leave you by yourself to defend your own home in case of an invasion?  In fact, fuck it, why don't we just dissolve government altogether and let people run their own lives without any interference or taxes?  You could be your own police, judge and jury; it'd be brilliant...

Of course the government has to share the wealth around.  No-one's suggesting giving everyone the same wage.  Or did you conveniently miss the bit where Obama explained that his economic plan would cut the tax bill for 95% of the population?  Basically unless you're earning several hundred thousand dollars a year (in which case I think it's safe to assume you can probably spare a bit more change to keep public services running) you'll be spreading less of your wealth around than Bush is asking you to.
