Chinese Democracy - one song's history
« on: October 23, 2008, 02:09:42 PM »
ok, I think we can consider the current single final, so here's something useful for all you downloading motherfuckers  ENJOY!

2001-01-01 - Las Vegas (audience version, the first performance ever, magical!)
2001-01-15 - Rock In Rio 3 (soundboard version)
2002-11-22 - Pittsburgh (soundboard version)
2002-12-02 - Boston (soundboard version)
Bloody Roses Remaster (mix of the two above, two bucketheads!)
2006-05-14 - Hammerstein, New York (audience version)
2006-12-17 - Los Angeles (audience version, you can clearly hear Bumble's contributions)
2007-07-15 - Tokyo, Japan (monitor mix version)

you can find all of the above in this file: http://rapidshare.com/files/156866187/Chinese_Democracy_-_The_History.zip.html

and the rest?
you know where to get the leak...
and you know where to hear the single :phrozen:

enjoy the ride...

You should add the version they played live with frank on drums.

This is the same drum beat found on the single.
In my opinion

I think the las vegas version is the best one....7 years of tweaking & new band members kind of took away the straight up hard rock song.

almost 8 years later then the vegas show 01-01-01... and guns N Roses stayed true to their ideas and choose CD as first single like they did back then or in 02... It was meant to be released in 01-02 I believe and a video was shot...

I also heard a video was shot for Catcher in 02-03 but never got released.. wonder what that looked like.. would be cool to see that video somehow:P   anyone has a phone number of Axl so I can ask him nicely?

hard to say. for me the Vegas show is pure magic, like a dream. but I think the progress was generally a good thing.

well I think they were rumored to record a video in china - but that was in 2002, around the Asian tour, and nobody knew about Catcher by that time

Robin kinda had a hiccup during that solo..

I also loved how almost every boot of the 02 tour has bucket playin a different solo...

that landfill of ET cartridges is about to have a best friend named Chinese Democracy.-James Lofton

yep. the same about Nightrain, it's fucking epic to hear all the solos, each and every one of them is just improvisation. this learned me to love Bucket!
