"Freedom and Democracy Taboo words on Chinese Internet

by Elaine Kutebach of Associated Press

Shanghai......Chinese bloggers..even foriegn sponsored sites
had better choose their words carefully.
Censors are watching......

Users of the new MSN spaces secton new China based web get a scolding each time they use a "Taboo" word.....such as Democracy .....Freedom.....and Human Rights.....

A search for the words Tibetian Freedom...or the group
"Falun Gong"....or Chinese Democracy party...leads to a
"cannot be found" on China's Yahoo.

Wonder how long it will be before  they ban the Album??

Easy, they will not translate it to Chinese. They will keep the title in english.

This site ChineseDemocracy.com is banned in China with that Great Golden Wall whatever you call it Shield they have...

We loose tons of traffic because of this. Other gnr sites are not blocked.

Maybe we should buy a subdomain like www.JapanIsLikeChinasRetardedLittleBrot her.com that redirects to CD.com?

I think China would let that one slide. I hear they don't like the Japanese too much.

Something I was thinking about the other day actually; where are all the Japanese gnr fans? (in Japan, duh) but on the internet?  We know the band has a massive following out there but we don't seem to have any Japanese members here at all.

What's with that?

Its a pity that in this time and age governments like Chinas still exist. All the oppresion that Chinese people are suffering now is like a bomb that will one day explode in their dictator faces. :finger:

I was thinking about GNRs album in China. Will it be allowed there? Will the band be allowed to play there?

yeah it's odd,

one of the mods say loads of traffic is indonesian but i aint seen a single indo person

and ive seen less japanese, can anyone verify whether some of the other gnr sites have a few of them

and if so could we borrow them?

Yeah, I don't know. Japan is light years ahead of Europe and America in technology so who knows.
Website domains aren't even used as much anymore. They use keywords and search engines more than anything.

Anyway, I was kidding about the Japan comment. I love Japan, I need to go back soon.
