basically the solo is a duel or duet of sorts, Slash's solo was recorded with pauses in as some solos are...

and basically Paul's solo fills in those gaps a little bit, so it goes a bit like this...

Slash plays the first bit "doo de doo de dooeeooeeoo" (please note not actually a realistic sound description at all)
then Paul will quickly be head goin' "doo doo dee dooo"
then Slash, "doooeee doooe doo dee doo de de de doooooooo"
then Paul adds "deeeoo de dooo"

etc...

I always hated that solo een when I heard it and didnt know much about Guns N Roses... Just sounds off and unnecessarywith 2 people and it glued together really crap

I read all about it, plus seen many sets of tabs verifying this kind of layout in it...

I really like the track...

I think when the solo gets fast they kinda meld together n overlay each other too...

But yeah, good contribution from Paul...

I really like slash n have great respect for him, but I think it was a little childish of him to get so uptight about Paul doing it, after all Paul didn't know it would piss him off, he just did as axl wanted...and it does make for a good effect, I just think Slash doesn't like sharing soloing space (I read many places that before gn'r he didn't even wanna work with another guitarist)...maybe worried bout sharing his limelight I dunno...

Not dissing Slash, he's great, but I think Paul is great and very under-rated, and though Axl was wrong to get Paul in without consulting I guess, and to do that on the track without consulting, I think its wrong for Slash to hate Paul over these situations, n he should maybe have made an effort... just my opinion...and because of this fans blame Paul over Slash quitting, but really Paul was just stuck in the middle of it I think...
