The reason the Bible got away with that at the time was due to an outdated understanding of science at the time of its writing. Omniscience may not have meant the ability to see what will happen in the future back then, but that was due to the fact that no-one had conceived a model of time other than constant linear progression such as that encountered in our day to day lives. I'm afraid that from a logical perspective it is pretty much a necessity of omniscience that you're gonna have to exist outside time itself. i.e. you're gonna be able to move back and forth along the timeline at will, seeing bits as you pick and choose. Now this doesn't in itself infer that there's no such thing as free will, what it does however entail is that if free will does exist you will still be able to see the consequences of said free will in advance.I know my initial post was a bit hazy on the issue but I wasn't trying to start a debate on free will; I just find it quite hard to discuss something as patently and observably ridiculous as Christian theology seriously. (I was brought up as a Catholic when I was a kid and on top of their contemporary cosmic guilt trip for some perverse reason I've never been able to explain to myself I'm pretty good on Augustian [as it happens I think City of God was one of the greatest books ever written], Thomasian and Calvinistic doctrine as well. I find them, in their entirety, laughable.)Anyways, going by the rest of your post, someone should really have introduced Sisyphus to Christianity; 'fuck this rock and this hill, I've got Jesus now.' But I don't see the point in a creator who wants to limit his creations rather than proudly encouraging them; after all no-one really raises their kids to be ascetics. But yeah, still this does nothing either way for the argument about whether or not gay marriage should be legalised and like I said in my last post, unless someone wants to make interfaith marriage illegal or wants to ban atheists from marrying then people are going to have to accept that marriage is a legal status, not something to be sanctified by God and that banning homosexuals from doing it is blatantly legally prejudicing against them on account of their sexuality.

I'm not going to argue about this man. I feel it isn't right. You feel its totally cool. The people of California agree with me.. in the hundreds of thousands.I'm not going to try and make you think straight dude.. you or anyone.. Just pointing out how I feel and why.If you bring Christian into this, it shouldn't be allowed at all. How about we let a few thousand gay people age 20 and up hang in a cool island for 100 years under the rainbow like gay flag.No artificial pregnancies.What happens to those types of humans after 100 years?To quote some book..
