I tihink a music video is needed first and foremost though, and a catchy song. E.g in the UK, a muic vid for 'Better' would seriously succeed, it fits perfectly into theat 'catchy-heavy-credibility' category. no one can rip it for not being heavy enough. no one can rip it for being emo. no one can rip it for not staying in your head.
