How are the new songs sounding?
« on: January 01, 2010, 06:13:52 PM »
Ok,after listening to some bootlegs i can make my opinion ( just my opinion friends).

Chinese democracy-probably the best to be played alive, and a really cool opener. The band played it really good. 9/10

Shacklers Revenge.imposible to play it like the record, axl didnt found the way.4/10
Better.ok.8/10
Street of dreams.Ok 8/10
If the world:Sounds really close to the record. But i dont like the song 8/10
TWAT:the band sound right, axl sounds horrible like 06.He never  managed to sing it right.Dificult song to be singed live because of the continued singing.5/10
Catcher:One of the best songs of the album ,one of the worst in the concert.Axl butchered the whole song.I hope he find the way to sing it during the tour 3/10
Scrapped:ok 7/10
Sorry:horrible the first day,a little better the second day 6/10
IRS:good 8/10
MAdagascar:9/10
this i lve :not as good as a wish, but we can see the begining of something great .Axl fucked up some parts but will be great 6/10
Prostitute:4/10 axl is in singing in ppain during the song.

my take on things

Chinese democracy-perfect show opener.. axl needs to remember the lyrics tho 8/10

Shacklers Revenge. sounds solid besides the low part in the verses 8/10

Better. just fine, especially tokyo version 10/10

Street of dreams. the solo isn't quite there yet 9/10

If the world:perfect, the live ending really adds to the song 10/10

TWAT: much better than 06, finally seems legit live 10/10

Catcher:ehh it will be fine when a) the piano is actually audible in the mix, and b)when axl figures out what to do with his voice.. for example towards the end of the tokyo version, he started to sing with the rasp, and it wound up working a lot better, a lot more on pitch

Scrapped: its ok. needs more backing vocals from the band 7/10

Sorry: take out all the vocal samples and shit and we'll talk 7/10

IRS&Madagascar- always great 10/10

this i lve : vocals are getting there, solo is getting there 7/10

Prostitute: decent 7/10

Fight me I'll take you, doubt me I'll break you

You can't go by bootlegs, becuase i've heard crap sounds on video's when a copy of the audio from another sorce was amazing and the other way round also. im not just talking about new gnr but all bands. Remeber live paris 92, when it was on T.V there was no Duff bass guitar, just a twanging noise, it didn't pick him up sound wise. but the audio boot leg i heard was awsum. I think you need to go to a live show for your self's to form an opinion, but the record is that techinically difficult to play both musically and vocaly that im sure it will take quite a few shows to get it perfect. Im just so glad they are trying. AXL always has and for ever will like a challenge.

From what Ive listened to they sound great together, but like somebody said earlier go to the show and form an opinion.  Personally I hope to catch about 4 shows and I'll be damn happy to be there even if there is some human error involved. After all, the band is made up of a bunch of humans, I think?
