Thats not true! Axl doesn't playback or uses backing tracks.
Just watch better in Rock Am Ring.

Its even ridiculous that people would think that

gnr use backing tracks, not things that play their parts for them and they mine
thats different
but things that are there that none of the members play
seriously even bbf said in a recent interview backing tracks are used, plus the guy who did sound at HOB 01 said they do :)

my band are gonna start too, not miming to a track but like adding chior and orchestra parts on cd and a click then pannign the click to the left and sending that to our drummer and panning the backing to the right and sending to the mix
its piss easy and alot alot of bands do it
All cautions made, every chance was given, no effort spared, to save what we had*
or it would take, away the light we given, once it is ours, were free from this land

and probably gnr's last relevant moment.  at that point they had already written every good song they'd ever write, and this was their peak.

can you imagine how fucking GREAT gnr would have been if they had never made money or played anything bigger than a club?  they could have been fucking insane, so much potential

No axl is not singing over a backing track. His voice is far too spontaniouse for that and it would take a geniouse not of this earth to have the mental abilty to manage that. What you here on the microphone is called reverbe wich the sound guys will ajust ocasionaly acording to how they feel the sound is. Axl belive's in giving his best. Why do you think almost every show at some point he speeks to his volcal controller personaly over the mike.

Wrong. The recording ive hear'd live there is no backing track. I belive pittman does sound a little like Axl on harmonies. If Axl was using a backing track, all i can say is the songs are very very hard to perform live, somthing which axl/the band did'nt even consider when writing the album as axl would probably say we will come to that bridge when we pass it. I have hear'd some new gnr covers live of IRS and better on youtube and as much as You can't  knock another band for trying, they sound no where near as good as the band them selfs. If he was singing to backing track he is just usuing on a couple of songs, his studio voice as an extra backing singer, He is not hiding anything on stage at all as far as most are concerned

Well, you never would've heard of them, for one.  I'm trying to figure out how them never getting discovered would've been awesome.

In reference to bad faulkner. I prefer the old way but how can you say that. They were that good they were bound to become famouse/ play stadiums. Only if they had split after live like a suicide would that of happend. A band has to change musically with there albums. I am dissapointed with metallica's changing ways though i admit. But a band should pley/write for them selfs, I think it sux when fans want them to keep doing the same stuff/style all the time. Think of what them the muscians want to do. Would you play in a band and keep writing stuff your fans wanted to here, even if you did not like it. I wouldn't Music has to come from the heart and if you have an idea like axl did. It has to happen. The old guys would of been great at doing this new album/tour but did not want to stick with it. Plus the axl/slash fall out did not help. I like the change, Im sure axl would agree with me not you

Dude, you said wouldn't it have been awesome had they never made it big.  I'm only replying to what you said.

And your quote completely discounted the genius of UYI one and two.

We simply don't agree.  And never will.  Good day.

I personally sing as a hobby - let's not discuss whether I'm good at it or not - but I've done 'Paint It Black' regularly for years, and I still sometimes fuck it up completely? why? because in my head I go 'hey, that one I can do by autopilot, so I might as well think about food or homework or money instead of focusing on the performance' - and the result is a complete shambles. without wanting to judge what goes on inside mr Rose's head (;)), I suppose that can happen to anyone - and of course when it's uploaded to youtube, it's "Axl singing WTTJ drunk" - yeah sure, cos if you make a mistake you MUST be blind drunk?????
