Did you read where it said that the record had been banned in China?  Is that true?

I don't doubt it, but hadn't heard this before...

Do you really think that the Chinese government would let an album called Chinese Democracy to be available in china...
I got nothing more to say.

reviews mean nothing to me, i will either like it or i wont, and no smart ass journalist is gonna influence my decision :finger:
I could wile away the hours
Conferrin' with the flowers
Consultin' with the rain
And my head I'd be scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain

Yeah, but you've got to remember that this is a newspaper that put tits, kiss and tell stories and the latest from the big brother house ahead of international affairs and politics. You can't expect them to get everything right, the sun's not the most serious or accurate newspaper in the world.

That said, it's one of the most widely read publications in the United Kingdom, so at least they gave it an OK review. Or a review at all for that matter.

I'll be interested to here what replaces May's solo though.
I like what Josh did, but I prefer Ratpigeon's feel.

The review made some good points, the biggest of them being;

"No one else on the planet is making music like this at the moment"

prairieboy,
www.gnrtv.com, it's all GNR, all the time.  Forget youtube we've got your Axl right here.

The most aggrivating comment in the review was, 'no one on this planet is making music like this, at the moment.'

That's a simply not true and an ignorant/MTV-stance.  The reality is, record labels aren't taking chances or even bothering to look.

We've gone out of our way to make music that is artistic, passionate, inspired and creative - and it's gotten us 'regional' status and forced us to release music indendently, which is fine because the offers just are not there.

Axl is lookin' out for his own dignity/vision and the little guy, which is to be respected.

I'm glad this record is coming out, but if the record company doesn't pay attention to the neglected 'artist,' the industry will collapse just like the overly-bloated housing industry, which has caused a systematic breakdown in the economy, as a whole.

Aside from the one statement, I like the review.  But, 'reviewer,' get in touch with your local scene - dig around.  There is a lot of phenomenal music being created by artists you'll never know!
