Catcher In The Rye
Guns N' Roses

When all is said and done
We're not the only ones
Who look at life this way
That's what the old folks say
But every time I see them
Makes me wish I had a gun
If I thought that I was crazy
Well I guess I'd have more fun

The Catcher In The Rye again
Won't let you get away from him
It's just another day like today

You decide
'Cause I don't have to
And then they'll find
And I won't ask you
At any time
Or long hereafter
If the cold outside's
As I'm imagining it to be

The Catcher In The Rye again
Won't let you get away from him
It's just another day like today

When all is said and done
We're not the only ones
Who look at life this way
That's what the young folks say
But every time I see them
Makes me wish I had a gun
If I thought that I was crazy
Well I guess I'd have more fun

'Cause what used to be's not there for me
And ought to for someone
That belongs insane
Like I do

On an ordinary day
Not in an ordinary way
All at once the song I heard
No longer would it play
For anybody
Or anyone
That needed comfort from somebody
Needed comfort from someone
Who cared
To be
Not like you
Unlike me
And then the voices went away from me
Somehow you set the wheels in motion
That haunt our memories
You were the instrument
You were the one
How a body took a body
You gave that boy a gun
You took our innocence
Behind our stares
Sometimes the only thing we counted on
When no one else was there

hmmm, i am not gonna say i don't like it. Its good. it has part that seem like an allman brothers track, not in a bad way, but not in a way that makes it fit between t.w.a.t. and scrapped

The bad thing is that Finck is covering Brian May's solo; I just realized it wasn't a newly written solo that sucked, but it was Finck missing notes like he was playing his solo in November Rain.

Overall the song has great quality and it is awesome.

at first i didn't like the final version at all.
it sounds (as do other songs in my opinion) like they put a final version in front of bumblefoot, and told him to lay down some guitar parts, just so he can be part of the album. i'm not saying the guitar is bad. i'm saying it's weird at first. i learned to like it. but i have problems with the mixing. it is seriously like if you would have the mona lisa, and somebody would draw some lines over it with white. you could actually see it.

i hope some of this actually makes sense  :retard:

I'm personally dissapointed with the finished version - it sounds too 'busy' particularly in the middle section

I think the problem most people are having with this song, is that this is one of the songs that changed the most since the leak we had. And people have habits and dont like to be surprised lol. I think this final version is an all time great! Still is one of my favourites, and relax people, we will probably hear a polished version with brian May as a bside or something :)

The demo was a bit too flat for me to really enjoy it as much as I wanted to. The album version is far superior, keeps you hooked 'til the end.

i kinda miss the old solo
but that said i think theres a reason its been left off
other than the fact the new 1 is still awesome
i love how it ends now with jsut piano
almost like skipping along
All cautions made, every chance was given, no effort spared, to save what we had*
or it would take, away the light we given, once it is ours, were free from this land
