This is my second favorite second of the album, after SORRY.
Prostitute is a perfect song, starts like the new Gn'R is nowadays (what is lovely good) and i don't have anything to say about Axl's voice, it's just awesome, i never heard nothing like that.
I mean, after the Greatest Hits i was waiting for a new BOMB, a new explosion. So i got it when i heard Sebastian Bach's Angel Down, it really kicked ass.
Then in the same year we had Black Ice (AC/DC) and Death Magnetic (Metallica), two good albums, AC/DC rocks a lot more anyway. But nothing was like Chinese Democracy, it was an inovation because it's innovator. It's a new such fuck thing came of the best band of the world, you know. The CD starts amazingly and the finish... what can we say about the finish? Prostitute closed it with a gold key.

Thanks Gn'R.

This is one of the weakest songs on the album but it doesn't mean I don't like it. For me, there are just bigger guns.

edit:
I don't have the 14 track list of songs ranked one behind another, I can't do it that way but divided into groups my favorite list would roughly look like this (subject to change):

1. Better - Street Of Dreams - T.W.A.T.
2. This I Love - Sorry - Chinese - I.R.S.
3. Riad - Scraped - Shackler
4. Catcher - Maddy - If The World - Prostitute

A guy said that Prostitute is the best song ever written and i really can understand what he means, because i felt the same thing that i felt and i heard Estranged (for me, this is the best song of my life).
Estranged is a geniously lyric song, well, we're talking about Axl anyway!
But Prostitute is not the best lyric of Chinese Democracy at all, if some music has to be on the top talking about how it was wrote, it's called Sorry.
I don't know how Axl was while writing this, but i imagine he was holding a gun and looking at something really "DAMN, I DON'T KNOW HOW TO EXPLAIN IT" (he wasn't thinking of it, i'm saying that). I don't mean the lyric is so sad, no. But it's a fire at the heart to who knows what happened with him, it just is done by an artist with a pshyco genious mind like Axl Rose is.

^Exactly, its hard to make out since he sings it so high, but that it what he says.

Its easier to make it out on the version without any lead guitars

It is a great song, yes, but I think you're aiming a bit too high with the better than November Rain video comment.

This song grows with the listener, most of all songs on the album, the epic end of a story, of an album, of a feeling in silence broken with piano licks soft as silk. You can actually imagine Axl playing in it on the piano on the top of some high building, and in that ending leaving the piano there, walking towards the edge, staring at the city. It is a sad song but it makes you feel better, because it simply says 'I won't surrender, I won't die, I'm making a new start'. It showcases the whole album, it has everything from it, killer guitars, pianos, synths, energy, feeling, emotions, epicness. While this band maybe won't be called GN'R by someone, this song is rightfully shoulder to shoulder standing to Estranged or even Don't Cry.
Ask yourself.

Slash played well, but Robin wrote Better.
