The piper is Down...we have a down piper!

Your last post was just laiden with insults. Where are my post was carefully articulated points I was making. Specifically sighting people like you for the demise of this genre of music. For shame. At least when I post I have a point to make. Are we new to the internet?

And, I can not believe actually let this angry Scot post on here. Isn't there a law against that blogging while drinking and eating haggas? If not, there should be...cause I think it would keep 75% of Scotland and 95% of Ireland from posting on sites like this.

And, for the tool suggesting I am being racist. Dude, you must have ridden the short bus to High School and hung out with the window lickers. Look up the word racism...try websters dictionary or wikipedia.

Lets try and keep this thread on topic. Any more crap and this thread is moved, at best, or deleted.

Martyr for a name, huh? That may prove prophetic. Enjoy your stay.

Chinese Democracy is not best album ever.

UYI II > CD

CD has 14 great tracks, but it just doesn't work like album. I think that setlist is real mistake. If order of tracks were different, CD would be better album.

CD is a good album, high above average. maybe one of the best current albums at all. but there are many better albums in the music history.

I dont see how the setlist or a different order of the tracklist if thats what you mean makes the album better?

Do your part...quit living in the past. This is what the evolution of art is all about. For fucks sake, some people thought that Monet's early works were brilliant. And, his later works did not become popular and famous until he was dead and buried. AFD will never be done again...and if Axl had done songs that sounded like AFD you would have called him a poser living in the past.

You've hit the nail on the head. This is the reason, in my opinion, what makes CD the best album I have heard in a long time.

Amen...I find it funny that no one wants to address the plight of all Rock music...That was the most controversial part of my posts.

Can people honestly report on the local music in their Areas? Who is good to see? Do you support local music? If not, why?

I think we all need to start little movements in our localities to support local bands, artists, etc. They are the future of music...Not the suits with MBA's. Music will be about the people when the people make their voices heard...and support real artistry.

Oh yes the plight of Rock music. You think Rock's the only genre that's gone through some difficulties?

Yes I can report on the local music in my area. Thank you for pointing out the obvious with who the future of music is. Anyway so you're saying anyone who's signed to a major label isn't a true artist? Because..... eeer that's what it sounds like from here.

Not insane, they just have different tastes. I thought a "professional musician" would sort of understand that, but obviously not.
Scott will be joining GnR on air guitar. Fuelled primarily by heroin and aids.

Okay...since I just got home to take a peek at what everyone is saying...I should address this.

MY OPINION:

AFD is a kick ass album. I am not discrediting it for its musicianship. It was groundbreaking and epic for its time. I could only imagine how it would have sounded with todays recording technology. Hell, since AXL has been working on this album we have had the invention of PROTOOLS. THe evolution of computer technology in modern recording. Editing procedures that can make any hooker with big boobs sound amazing.

For that matter, how would The Doors, Hendrix, The Byrds, Black Sabbath, and Zepplin sounded if they were around today? And, along those same lines...In todays music world...would any of the previously mentioned bands actually been signed to a record deal? Lets be realistic and answer this rhetorical question with a firm, "Probably not."

FOR THE HATERS

I also want to address the sheep who are slamming this album as being poorly done. What else out there today is better? Seattle is dead guys...Trust me when I say that Pioneer Square is filled with DJ music and hippity hop trash. LA is dead...there are one or two spots still there but, there is no way to grow a following with the way they do business there. NY city is the same as LA...SF is dead...rock clubs are closing to make way for martini bars and Britney Spears fans who are over 21 and into the dancing/Dj scene...We have failed as fans of musicians by letting this happen.

And, Lets be real. If you were in Axl's shoes...you would have quit cried and given up when Slash walked out. But, Axl had the balls to work his ass off for over 10 years making a fantastic album. Knowing he would be subject to ridicule like this. And, Even Matt Sorum said that at Least Axl rose can sell out a stadium just by mentioning he wants to tour. Velvet could have never done that.

DEAD ROSES

Now when it comes to my opinion CD is one of the best albums ever. I would have to say...thus far, it is the top. Not to take away from the previous works of GNR. Not to mention something better could always come out. But, for now...I am holding firm on this assertion. I would also have to agree and disagree with what others had posted about the DEAD ROSES years... Here is my take on them.

-AFD has a lot of filler music in it, and musically the artists in the group had not hit their thresh hold of what was possible for them. They were not even in their prime yet. Very sleezy and it had some great music. A complete rock anthem. It was by far epic and ahead of its time. A great overall album.

-UYI was a chance to record a completely amazing album....but, they made it into two albums and added a lot of fluff and filler. Civil war was fantastic. Nivember Rain still puts me in a depressed mood. And, I will say that the production quality was excellent. But, Axl do not ever try and RAP again. My world sucked.

-Spaghetti was a joke. I do not even need to say anymore on this subject. Thank God I never bought this album.

-Lies was very interesting though...something different.

-CD is complete from start to end...every single time. Not over-produced...honestly, I have heard over-produced (any Kanye West/Smashley Simpson/DRE album)...and under produced (Metallica's Death Regurgitation...I am still in shock but, at least they got rid of that god awful snare sound).

My point is simply this. This album is musically superior to anything the band had done before as an ALBUM (musically speaking). I know that the majority of you posting are Pro-Slash and want to believe the media hype or want to hold onto your jean jacket and white high top Nikes thinking it will go back to the way it once was...Cut your mullets and expand your musical horizons. Becuase the white High tops are not magical ruby red slippers that will take you back to high school.

And btw, Congratulations...you are sheep. Open your ears when you listen to this album...it is musically genius.

Honestly...I went into listening to this album thinking it would be another Brian Wilson fiasco. I was extremely skeptical. And, I would have agreed that AFD was the best album...until i was blown away by CD.

Do not be a sheep...Play this album for your friends...If they do not like it at first...keep playing it when they get in your car. It will grow on them.

TO THOSE WHO WROTE KIND WORDS:

Thank you...and play the album for a few more friends. Fuck they are $10 at Best Buy...Buy them for a couple friends and spread the word.

Spaghetti was not and should never be called a joke...

How the fuck could you say that...

I love Spaghetti... just like Axl said about good songs...

That is a great CD..There is absolutely great stuff all over
it and don't ever call anything Axl does a joke again!

DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME!

The new sound of GNR...WOW
« Reply #139 on: January 12, 2009, 01:51:20 PM »
Yes, yes...I am new...have nothing much to say about myself there for I am skipping the intro area. If anyone wants to know anything..ask. Otherwise I am sure I may type about myself here and there. Mostly just wanted to comment on the new-ish sound.

I am guessing by most here I would be an old woman(34) LMAO. But I still remember back in the 80's I was just a skate boarding punk. My type of music was more Black Flag, Exploited and so on. Until I made friends with this one girl who was from Flroida that introduced me to GNR and Appetite not too long after it had come out. I really loved the sound and followed them all the way through Illusions. After that life happened and to be honest I had my head up my butt as far as rumours and such going on the the rich and famous arena. I was spending time collecting evidence and dealing with dead bodies as a crime scene technician in metro Atlanta so I missed all this fighting and rumour mill going on. And NO...it is NOTHING like the stupid show so many glue themselves to at nights. CSI is HOLLYWOOD....not too much real about that. Any way....time goes on and I am now laid up in bed with a toe that I would rather have had cut off than operated on so I could be back at work, jonesing for something new to do with my OCD/ADHD self. A friend handed me the new GNR album and it was nothing like what I had expected. I was surprised. I went searching and found out about all the things I have missed and wow. Different...but very good in reference to the new music. Very pleasantly surprised actually. I have to give a HUGE Kudo to Axl and the guys in the band. It is almost like a healing and a rise from the ashes listening to the CD. ALMOST a reinvention. You all have been through a lot and hopefuly it will pay off. I am very positive it will actually. Way to go and keep up the great work. Now that I am no longer in crime scene land....maybe I can keep up with much more. Oh...and as far as the nay sayers, rumour mongers and haters go....just look at it this way(this is to other fans as well) they are in desperate need to get a life, one of their own at that, honestly....what a sad existence to live for starting rumours, running about saying negative things and such...there has got to be a much better use of one's life than to do  things like that. If not..their loss and they are not worthy of mention or attention as that is all they are after. Riding some one else's coat tails in any manner they can find to get some form of attention.

Okay...I think I am done adding my little tid bit and atta boys...now to go back to the screeching darkness of sheer boredom that I call life. Possibly add some more to my personal website just to see how many people I can piss off and how many hate mails I can generate with my thoughts and opinions on things....perhaps work on some store websites that I really need to update.....make more computer graphics maybe. I do have people bugging me to make more graphics to share on lists....seems there are many as dark and twisted as I am and they actually enjoy my artwork and photography. Though photography is out of the question at the moment....naaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh h....I am going to chill and listen to some more GNR.  :D  :bucketsixx:
I dance in the moon light. I find power in the shadows. I am darkness.
