I think everyone barr two people have put Madagascar or Riad in the bottom three!!! And the two that didn't put IRS in there!!!!! Lol, I can't fathom that at all. I love Riad. Really really love it. Is it because they don't sound like Appetite era Guns??

I'm about to listen to the album through again. I'm not a fan of Catcher, even though i was before. Where the Hell did This I Love come from!??? I was SOOOOO not expecting that lol, very pleasant surprise. Scraped should have been scrapped, i don't like it at all.

The album is all very produced, but i don't mind all that much. And in a weird way, Axl has got exactly what he was aiming for, not something contemporary but something, that stands on it's own. I almost used the word timeless there but it's not correct. It's just different but is not out of place at all. There did need to be a bit more quality control though. has anyone calculated the running time????

71 minutes and 16 ish seconds by my count. He could have cut down some serious deadweight. Especially in the middle of the album.

This album is like eating every single meal at the best restaurant in Paris. And then you ask for more.
It's very très beaucoup so much amazing.

I don't know what to do with this album or how you go about deconstructing or reviewing it.  I don't know that I've ever heard a more expansive, wide-ranging, vision put into one album and yet it all fits.  And it didn't until the last 3 tracks that I hadn't heard until today appeared and it was like putting the final pieces into a massive jigsaw puzzle then stepping back and saying 'ah, that's what it is!'  except what it is is the musical version of Ulysses, it's the fucking universe crammed into one album.  I always kinda laughed when people would call Axl a genius and a visionary and told them he was just a good song writer with some cool ideas but having heard this I rescind all previous mockery and say he knew what he wanted this whole thing to sound like from the start and the scope is overwhelming (so overwhelming in fact that perhaps those Brian Wilson comparisons were justified after all, he's made Pet Sounds for the 21st Century, it's a work of art and it's gorgeous).  It's a record that's much more than the sum of its parts and so far from the many easy options he could have taken.  I'm just not sure how the general public deal with a record like this because it's fucking intense and you have to go into it pretty deep to get out of it what you should.

But for me I'm just impressed and happy at the moment.

After one listen, I'm absolutely blown away. Axl's vision is incredibly diverse & epic, a true work of art.

im not at all satisfied with it, i like it tho. doesnt sound at all like gnr.

also the songs sound like there were recorded like they were (recorded by alot of people and in differnt times).
doesnt sound at all consistent. the recordings were clearly overdubbed (something the original lineup would have frowned upon), and mr rose doesnt sound like anything like is youngerself, sounds like for all these years he hasnt at least done any vocal pratices to keep his voice in shape, his arrogance probably plays a big part in that.

i feel sorry for him, hes a sad lonely old man.

Yeah.... Thats about right!

I think this is the best album i've ever heard. Someone allready said what I think, if you hear this with ear plugs it's amazing... the details...
I just can't say wich one is my favourite song, because I feel that it will be constantly changing... The evolution of the songs leaked is fantastic, the biggest surprise to me was "Catcher in the Rye".
My 5 years old daughter, likes very much of "Street of Dreams".

I have now heard the first ten song, and the first thing that crosses my mind is how great sounding this record is. The MP3s och the leaks isn't anywhere near to do these songs proper justice! Fantastic! Still four more song to go :)

IMO, the cd doesnt pick up steam until track 6...The first 5 have some hit and miss songs, IF the world, shacklers...maybe its because 3 of the first 5 were released to the public legally...anyways, comments on the album as a whole?

It is a good album.  Not going to say like it better than Appetite, Lies, and the UYI's, but by today's standards it is very good.  The leaks spoiled a lot of this, for which I only have myself to blame.  I would say TWAT and Better are my favorites, because they sound the closest to the real GNR.
Never lose hope: BRING BACK SLASH.
