One thing I cant stop thinking of: Is ther ANY band in the world that could make

a) such a diverse album
b) on such a extrem high levelof quality?

I can't think of any. There are many fantastic bands out there, but this diversity? Nowhere to be seen.

quality album
but its mastered really qietly
its been said before by certain people too
and its true
the UYI's were mastered louder
CD is like background music in comparrison
i'm glad its not compressed to fuck
but i wish it was all jsut a little louder

Large chunks of my music collection are sounding horribly dated right now.

Its a truly great album for sure. First of I would like to put up my song list.

Btw it was very hard to do this.

Okay, I'll do it like this.

Best of the album:
Sorry
Street Of Dreams
Better
Catcher In The Rye
Chinese Democracy
This I Love
Prostitute

The second best:
Scraped
Rhiad N' The Bedouins
Shackler's Revenge
If the World

Worst of the album(not saying their bad, though):
There Was A Time
Madagascar
IRS

Then to the conclusion of it all:

I wanna say its very different and we all knew it would be like that. secondly, its a great record with a lot of feelings displaying through the hole album. It might be some of their best work, but putting CD up against appetite isnt really possible comparing those to.
So I would say it stands out as something for itself, and if I would have to compare, it proboably whould be as good as UYI 2, then when thats said, I wanna say that it is different and I really dig it that way. But its nowhere near Appetite, which simply is the best record of all time. Im not the kind of guy, that is just going after all the rockers on the album. No, im open for everything. Im glad it turned out this way in the end, and I will have Chinese Democracy on replay for a lot of time. It is a great rock album.
Lastly I wanna say thx to all you gunners fans for making it worth waiting. Enjoy the album.

the plus side:....

nice drum sound
the 10% of vocals that sound like vintage Axl rock
90% of Robin Finck's guitar work/solo's are excelent!

the downside:....
over produced  :O
too many layers to vocals  :?:
Bumblefoot's contribution's sound "tagged" on  :(
Axl sounding like seseme(?) street vampire, homer simpson, tom jones and mostly a drunk Vince Neil impersonating Axl.  :O
the lyrics are mostly very BAD.  >(
Would be imbarassed to be caught out listening to most songs with others around  :puke:. right there Ive said it!...this CD is just to weird!! creepy weird!  :(

I'd only put say 6 songs from this cd, on a gnr best of compilation.

couldnt dissagree more.. Axl sounds amazing.... The songs rock and its great to have GN'R back,,,,

yeah.. seriously.

anyone who was expecting an album of pure ballads and hard rock
this is it.

this is album is sooo soooo good.
like.. even so good, i cant say.

just cuz Slash [a guitarist] isnt in the band
or Izzy
doesnt mean Axl isnt a fucking good musician

you coulda had anyoneeeee be the guitarist in GNR before
and youd be saying you wish it was them
this is New GNR now.
if we had Old Gnr these past 10 years
Youd be askin for somethign new.

dont bitch anymore,
shut the fuck up
and enjoy the cd.

the more you listen to it
the more youll love it

It's funny that Axl Rose was right all the way. If yoy remember the interview after the VMA 2002 performance.

"You'll see it, I don't know if soon is the word"

"How do you rebuild something that got so big and replace every single member on the crew, every single thing. And how do you make a whole bunch of guys that is something else into something that alredy was"

Has anybody else noticed that Axl plays the guitar on T.W.A.T. and Madagascar? I was just reading the booklet to see who did the Guitar Solos on T.W.A.T. and I saw Axl's name as one of them in the booklet. Now I'm not sure if he did one of them killer ones but I saw him on there. He's pretty good

I'm suddenly aware of alot of fourteens in GnR lore.... Chinese democracy took 14 years to come out. There's 14 tracks. Allegedly 14 band members in the recording of it. it was on the 14th of dec that Axl announced the end of the tour to finish the album in 2006. Sept 14th when rock band release the track Shacklers Revenge. The first comback concert in 2001 was the 14th of janaury.

And this is a stretch, but to anyone whos read "Without You" by Del James... Mayne was drunk for 14 years... and Also toured for 14 months.

And Last but not least... a little while ago Axl gave us "14 years" turning this into a self made prophecy.... Go back and listen to it....

What do you think?
