One would think we were promised a 200pg 12"x12" hardcover coffee table book with pull-out origami that you colour in with crayons and make life size statues of the band members with...

rotflmao.....ditto.  Classic.  Nice post.

Because lars came on stage with gnr in 2006, and he is a part of metallica.

Axl also thanks George Chin twice. I know he likes F1 but why thank Kimi Raikkonen :?:

The booklet is a let down. I like the cover though... I'm not gonna get into those mistakes in lyrics. It's just awful! It just makes you wish that you'd be blind so you wouldn't see the mistakes or deaf so you wouldn't hear the right lyrics...

Oh, I don't think it's really so awful.

Yeah, I mean I'm not a lyrical expert but isn't the chorus in Shackler's Revenge 'I don't believe in the reaper'? Because that sounds and fits the song much better than the boring 'I don't believe there's a reason'.

Also isn't it  'Shittin' in a Chinese stew', not 'sitting'?

the cover art doesnt really matter....its the music that does.
it was a pleasant surprise however to find the lyrics in the booklet so fans could learn the lyrics to the songs better. some artists/bands dont do that all of the time.  :D

I noticed a ton of interesting things in the booklet, might as well try to keep them in the same thread...

Errors in Song Lyrics
-Last verse of Chinese Democracy is missing.
-The line "This melody, inside of me, still searchs for solution." in Better is missing.
-The line "Has cost more then it should for me" in Street Of Dreams is missing. I also think he says "What'd I tell you that's only memories, inside of you" at the end.
-In If The World. "If the would end, and our love world slipped away."
-The line in There Was A Time "Never mind who you gave head" is printed as "Never mind who gave you head."
-The line in Catcher "As if they'd ever change, as if it were mine to say" is missing. "That belongs insane" should be belonged.
-In Riad, the first chorus misses the "Sweet salvation" part. The second verse is reprinted after the first chorus, but not actually sung. Same with the first chorus, but this time it includes the "Sweet Salvation" line.
- In Madagascar, "but I can't find my way back..." should be "that I can't find my way back.." in the first verse. The line "My'd own denial" might be wrong, but it could be his own denial is the way they used to lure him in. The line "oh, free of all the chains, we have together" should read "oh, freed of all the chains, we have together" except in the last verse where it is "we held together." (Listen closely). In the quotes after "What we've got here is...", it doesn't include the quote "Fear!".
-In This I Love, the line "And it might not be wise" should read "Thought it might not be wise."
-In Prostitute, the line "I had to pull thought" should read "I had to pull through." The line "that you could not save" should be "that you would not save."
- A lot of Ohh's and Naa's are missing, 'and' is quite often spelt as 'an' and on the rare occasion 'N''.

Mistakes in the credits etc
-It metions Axl's main vocals for Chinese Democracy, Prostitute, If The World, There Was A Time, Madagascar, Riad, I.R.S. and Street Of Dreams were all recorded by Sean Beavan but doesn't mention any of the other songs.
-"Axl's guitars on There Was A Time recorded by Billy Howerdel" but no mention of his Madagascar guitars.
-Sorry is "Additonal engineering and initial production Sorry for You: Pete Scaturro, Bryan Mantia"
-It has piano techs, guitar techs, drum techs and keyboard techs but no mention of bass techs, specifically Dan Druff.

Interesting Tidbits
-Paul Tobias plays guitar on Better, which was assumingly written in 2004.
-Axl's publishing company is "Black Frog Publishing (ASCAP)"
-Josh Freese' publishing is "Slip N' Bleed Music (BMI)"
-Robin's publishing is "Robin Finck Light Headed (ASCAP)"
-Caram Costanzo's publishing is "The Noes Knows Music (BMI)"
-Bucket's publishing is "Katella Music (BMI)"
-Dizzy's publishing is "LOSINGMYMIND Publishing (ASCAP)"
-Tommy's publishing is "Done to Death Music, Inc. (ASCAP)"
-Paul Tobias' publishing is "Zero Intelligence Publishing (ASCAP)" and for TWAT, "Steiner Tobias Publishing (ASCAP)". Possibly older, as TWAT is pretty old.
-Pitman's publishing is "Valisystem A Publishing (ASCAP)"
-"That's Right Frankie Publishing (BMI)" is either Brain's or Pete Scaturro's, I'm assuming Scaturro's because all the other 'current' GN'R members are ASCAP, but I'm not fully positive.
The majority of that info was made by guessing and checking. Axl is Black Frog because he is on every song, so is Black Frog. Pitman is Valisystem A because on Madagascar and If The World (the only other songs he has writing credits), it also has Valisystem A in publishing.

I also think that Dizzy and Ron's pictures should flip around (so Dizzy is on Madagascar and Ron is on Riad) and Frank should be put on I.R.S. instead of Prostitute and Robin should be put on Better.

Keep finding errors/interesting stuff and I'll add it to the list.

Damn!  How about just editing your list, did you check it for errors before you posted it?  If anybody read this post it has way more errors in it than the booklet from CD.  And after being on some of these forums I am beginning to see why Axl didn't thank the fans

And by the way,  Axl has already said he did not fully approve of this booklet or the artwork in it.  Thats not a direct quote and I didn't feel like going to dig back through his forum answers to give a link to the direct quotes that back that statement up because I am thinking that people on this forum should already know he addressed this shit.

I was glad to get my booklet in my hands, I ignored the mistakes and I still haven't opened my LP to check it, it still makes my dick hard wrapped in the original plastic. One day when the novelty wears off and my dick goes limp I'll tell you if its perfect inside.
