Fortus' role on CD
« on: November 24, 2008, 01:02:05 AM »
Fortus only plays on 5 CD tracks and doesnt take any solos. I think we can now say that he was recruited mostly for when the band plays the old material, as his style is more classic rock and better suited to those songs.

Not saying what he did play on CD wasn't a worthy contribution, but it is interesting to ponder

Paul does more work than he does and he doesnt even play live with them. Makes me think Paul Tobias is still part of the band, just he doesn't want to tour

and it really sucks if Robin is gone, then all the big guitar contributors are no longer in the band.

never liked robin... he could (and should) be easily replaced.
And just like grim ascension prophecies
My revenge carved deep will be
A grisly plot that reads
Like my filthy white ward spattered with their screams
When My Deviliverers come from fog for me...

im not a big fan of robins live playing, but his work on the album is great stuff. i dont know if he will be 'easily' replaced, but im sure it would be easier to replace robin than bucket, which will be important if the band are going to tour with the new material. sure, it's likely that bumblefoot will be able to take over a lot of buckets solo's when they perform live, but i dont know if he's proven that he can yet. fingers crossed though! i suppose axl chose him for a reason!

CD's songs are pretty old, that's why. What about the other 3 new albums' worth...

Fortus will have a massive contribution on the album follow ups. We already know hes been writing songs for the album (Motormouth) so I expect him to major influence on one of the albums post CD.
