NIN pretty much sucks but all you've done by posting this link in a GN'R forum is promote his antics and garner him more hits on his website. While not exactly talking smack, I don't understand the purpose of bagging on newly released albums just to promote new features on a website. How is that even the same thing?

And I'll pose this question: why do I have to forget about what I'm listening to now just to check out the site? Can't I check out the site while I listen to whatever it is I'm listening to now? Reznor's whole post seems really dumb to me. Does he assume that NIN fans should just be NIN fans and not listen to anything else? Aside from some hits on the radio, I'm glad that I've never heard an entire NIN album. It might make me dumber if I did.

You say listening to NIN makes you dumb? See a NIN fan would understand that, that was a joke. You're actually unlucky you haven't heard an entire NIN album, you're missing out on alot.

Far from it actually. NIN are far more relevant than GNR.

Scott will be joining GnR on air guitar. Fuelled primarily by heroin and aids.

That probably wouldn't be the case   :tear: . Try arguing your point and showing the discrepencies in his arguments rather than attacking him as a person. Tha would be an ad-hominem fallacy and just renders your argument completely defunkt

I do, but it's pretty clear Trent doesn't like Axl, which makes the whole "Robin" thing weirder
When you have Duff saying "I think it would be cool if we did, like, a Nine Inch Nails type record next"
I mean, what artist would want to hear another artist say something like that?
IT IS REALLY HAPPENING!

I like everything he did from Broken onwards, through to Things Falling Apart. Nothing he's done since has appealed to me at all. The Fragile is a brilliant record, which makes Reznor's current slump even more bizarre.

As for all the "smack talk," it's clear that nin has to appeal purely to its fanbase in order to survive, and that means treating the fans as if they are purely nin fans. He's going to take jabs at GNR because of the animosity his fans have for the band due to the Finck situation. He's trying to be funny at GNR's expense and I'm sure his fans lap that shit up. Nothing more to it.

Trent's comments are usually funny and dead on however these are a little bit douchey and bitter.

But if you don't like NIN, fair enough, but keep that shit out of this thread. To deny the influence of NIN would be folly. They were the best thing that happened to the 90's after Cobain iced himself and GN'R slowly broke apart.

And more relevant than GN'R? No. More active, yes, but relevant no. I'm a big NIN fan but there's no way you can make that claim. NIN appeals to a small niche group of cultural cultists and jaded hipsters. His music hits on something visceral, sexual, and very primal and that's the way Trent likes is.

GN'R appeals to the mass market and the new stuff to a more refined, musically cultured bohemian one.
